On December 20, the signing ceremony for strategic partners of the BeiGene Bio-Island Innovation Center was grandly held. During the ceremony, Chuangxin International Biotechnology (Guangzhou) Co., Ltd. and BeiGene (Guangzhou) Innovation Technology Co., Ltd. officially signed a framework agreement for strategic cooperation, marking a new chapter in their partnership.

Under the cooperation agreement, ChipIntelli International and BeiGene have entered into a strategic partnership to jointly establish an organoid-based new drug R&D technology platform. By integrating new drug development with organoid technology, the two parties will collaboratively develop an intelligent organoid-based drug evaluation system, providing pharmaceutical companies with one-stop solutions. This initiative is expected to significantly promote the global application of organoid technology in new drug discovery and drug evaluation.

Earlier this month, the Center for Drug Evaluation (CDE) included organoids for the first time in its guidance on nonclinical pharmacology studies for gene therapy products, specifically within the context of validating gene and cell therapies. The document states: “Organoids can provide assessments of efficacy and safety for genetically modified cell therapy products.”

As a highly valued next-generation disease model and drug screening platform, organoid technology helps validate therapeutic efficacy and establish standards and norms for the gene and cell therapy industry, further facilitating new drug development and disease treatment.

The collaboration between ChipOne International and the BeiGene Innovation Center will help drive the sustained development of the entire biopharmaceutical industry chain, enhance original innovation capabilities in biomedicine, facilitate access to clinical resources, and demonstrate corporate commitment and responsibility in promoting high-quality industry development.
