Dr. Chenyang Xu has been appointed as President and Co-Chairman, Professor Yao Lu as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Co-Chairman, while Dr. Shuo Shen continues to serve as Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
As the core architect of the PVmed 2.0 innovation strategy, Dr. Xu Chenyang boasts nearly three decades of extensive experience in research, development, management, and investment in world-leading AI medical imaging.He is also the proposer of Gradient Vector Flow (GVF), an important foundational method in the field of computer vision, and the inventor of more than 40 international patents. He led the development of over a dozen products, including CartoMerge, the world’s first commercial artificial intelligence-based 3D cardiac imaging-guided mapping system, jointly developed with Johnson & Johnson.®) generated billions of dollars in new sales for Siemens and its commercial partners, while serving millions of patients worldwide. Dr. Xu has also been recognized for his outstanding contributions to the fields of computer vision and medical imaging applications research,He was named an IEEE Fellow, the highest honor conferred by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), making him one of the earliest Chinese experts to achieve this distinction in the field of medical imaging applications.

In 2000, Dr. Xu joined Siemens Corporate Research in the United States. In 2001, he co-founded the Siemens Interventional Imaging Laboratory, serving as its Technical Lead and Director. In 2005, he concurrently assumed the role of Co-Founding Executive Director at the Siemens China Medical Imaging Verification and Application Center. In 2009, Dr. Xu was promoted to Chief Technology Officer of the Siemens Silicon Valley Innovation Center, and in 2010, he became its General Manager, making him the highest-ranking Chinese executive at Siemens in the United States. During his tenure, he led the center in providing new venture incubation, acceleration, and capital support to nearly one hundred high-tech startups across the globe, including in the United States, Canada, Germany, the United Kingdom, and Israel. The center has been widely regarded as a model for corporate innovation among large enterprises in Europe, America, and Asia, with companies such as Intel, Samsung, and Dyson considering it a benchmark for learning. Since 2018, he has served as a Co-Founding Partner of the Silicon Valley Future Institute and a Managing Partner at Mingdao Future Capital. He is also a Guest Lecturer for the EMBA program in the Department of Economics and Management at Tsinghua University, and a Professor delivering masterclasses on corporate innovation and digital transformation for Silicon Valley study tours organized by various business schools, including Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business and the National University of Singapore.
