Orion Star Launches Disinfection Robot with Five Advanced Features Amid IPO Filing

Mar 21, 2022 15:32 CST Updated 15:32

Recently, OrionStar has unveiled its flagship disinfection robot, which utilizes ultrasonic spray technology to achieve comprehensive, wide-area, and blind-spot-free disinfection across diverse scenarios with simple operation. The OrionStar disinfection robot supports multiple intelligent disinfection modes, including autonomous path planning, zonal disinfection, and customizable duration. Upon completion of each disinfection cycle, quantitative statistics on disinfection outcomes can be generated via the data backend. Additionally, the system offers personalized scenario customization based on specific requirements and enables seamless, rapid integration with customer systems.

Consistently, OrionStar’s disinfection robot remains entirely independently developed in-house by OrionStar and is powered by its fully proprietary RobotOS. The rapid launch of this disinfection robot demonstrates the further maturation of OrionStar’s modular R&D capabilities and the exceptional stability of its foundational technologies.

According to the latest diagnosis and treatment guidelines for COVID-19 issued by the National Health Commission of China, SARS-CoV-2 is similar to most respiratory viruses and is primarily transmitted through droplets, aerosols, and contact. Air has become one of the main vectors for viral transmission. During this pandemic, preventing crowd gatherings has been repeatedly emphasized, and ensuring air hygiene and safety in public places has faced significant challenges.

Against this backdrop, the emergence of disinfection robots is inevitable compared to manual disinfection. In terms of safety, unattended disinfection completely eliminates occupational hazards previously faced by disinfection personnel. Regarding efficiency, disinfection robots capable of continuous, year-round operation can sanitize spaces exceeding 1,000 square meters within tens of minutes. In terms of effectiveness, these robots deliver stable, standardized, and comprehensive coverage, achieving a sterilization rate of over 99.99%. From an operational management perspective, disinfection robots enable digital management via backend systems, allowing for customized, site-specific disinfection tasks based on data feedback. It is under these conditions that the OrionStar disinfection robot, specifically designed for venue disinfection scenarios, was developed.

In terms of disinfection capabilities, the OrionStar disinfection robot can hold 15 liters of disinfectant solution (such as hydrogen peroxide, hypochlorous acid, and chlorine dioxide). Its powerful ultra-dry mist disinfection mode ensures comprehensive, dead-angle-free coverage within the spray range, covering an area of over 5,000 square meters. Meanwhile, a single charge provides up to 6 hours of operation/disinfection time, offering worry-free, all-day performance on a single charge.

Unlike other disinfection robots on the market, OrionStar’s disinfection robot delivers exceptional performance in voice interaction and navigation capabilities, thanks to OrionStar’s years of deep expertise in the robotics field. This can be succinctly summarized into the following five advanced features:

1. Reception and Presentation: This capability makes the disinfection robot far more than just an intelligent sanitization tool. The OrionStar disinfection robot features voice interaction capabilities identical to those of the Leopard Secret series of voice-enabled reception service robots, thereby enhancing its value across a wider range of application scenarios. For instance, while performing disinfection tasks, it can also provide guided tours and disseminate epidemic prevention information, offering multi-functional utility that helps reduce costs and improve efficiency in various settings;

2. Mask Detection: Precise identification, accurate detection. In the post-pandemic era, mask detection capabilities have become increasingly in demand, greatly addressing people’s safety concerns;

3. Autonomous Navigation and Precise Obstacle Avoidance:Benefiting from the OrionStar robot product family, the OrionStar disinfection robot boasts powerful navigation capabilities right out of the gate, maintaining precise movement even in narrow passages as tight as 70 cm, while its AI obstacle avoidance has been trained on tens of millions of data points.

4. Environmental Inspection:Automatic Scheduled Patrol, Cloud-Based Alarm Control;

5. Cloud Data Management:Backend processing of test data and report-based management.

OrionStar’s disinfection robot can achieve autonomous mobility, automatic positioning, precise navigation, and intelligent obstacle avoidance in ultra-large venues exceeding 5,000 square meters. Against the backdrop of rapid viral mutations and the prolonged difficulty in ending the pandemic, disinfection robots are needed to play a continuous role in all public spaces (including but not limited to makeshift hospitals, government service halls, industrial parks, city reception centers, museums, exhibition venues, and restaurants), particularly in environments with numerous obstructions and barriers.

OrionStar’s Disinfection Robot: A Response to National and Era-Specific Needs, and a Testament to OrionStar’s Deep Commitment to Robotics and the Maturation of Its Modular R&D Team. This further underscores that the application value of intelligent service robots has once again been brought to the forefront. As many have observed, in the post-pandemic era, with the proposal and implementation of initiatives such as New Infrastructure and the Dual Circulation economic strategy, the comprehensive digitalization and intelligent transformation of commerce and the real economy have become an irreversible trend. In this process, robots serve not merely as standalone intelligent hardware, but as solutions that bridge the physical and digital worlds, enabling large-scale deployment and replication to deliver systematic services across industry-specific scenarios. From this perspective, whether it is the disinfection robot or OrionStar’s broader robotics portfolio, their journey toward realizing greater value has only just begun.
