The completion of this strategic investment marks the beginning of a new development cycle for the company under its new equity structure. It also represents Shenzhen Holdings Group’s strategic move to align with Shenzhen’s “20+8” industrial cluster deployment, precisely positioning itself in the frontier sector of cell and gene therapy (CGT). Furthermore, it serves as a vivid demonstration of how Shenzhen’s state-owned capital leverages financial linkages to guide the clustering and accelerated rise of the high-end biopharmaceutical industry in Shenzhen, injecting strong momentum into the city’s ambition to build a global CGT industry hub.

Notably, Shenye Capital had previously joined forces with Pingshan Industrial Investment to establish the “Shenye Xingping Equity Investment Fund” with a total scale of RMB 500 million, focusing on strategic emerging industries such as biopharmaceuticals. This strategic investment in Fosun Kairos marks a key step for Shenye Group in building a comprehensive industrial chain layout in the cell and gene therapy (CGT) sector.Currently, Shenzhen has included cell and gene therapy (CGT) in the key cultivation list for future industries within its “20+8” industrial clusters, introduced the “Ten Cell Therapy Policies” as special supportive measures, and explicitly set a target to exceed RMB 20 billion in the city’s CGT industry scale by 2028. Nearly 200 companies across the industrial chain have already been aggregated in the region. Following its establishment in Pingshan District, Shenzhen, Fosun Kairos will fully leverage its technological barriers and commercial operational advantages to continuously advance the layout of localized R&D centers and regional GMP-compliant production bases, thereby facilitating the localization and implementation of cutting-edge global cell therapy technologies and mature industrialization experience in Shenzhen.Sources: Fosun Kairos, compiled from public information
