“I only have a few boxes of medication left after my cancer surgery! What can I do if I can’t go to the hospital for a follow-up visit to get a new prescription?” “It’s too troublesome to undergo nucleic acid testing every time I visit the hospital, but I have many urgent questions for my doctor. What should I do?” “My neighborhood has been under lockdown for several days, and food supplies at home are limited. How can I ensure proper nutrition and health for patients with chronic diseases?” Recently, COVID-19 cases have surged unexpectedly, and anti-pandemic lockdown measures have been tightened in Shanghai and other regions. However, people’s pain and medical needs cannot wait, making internet-based healthcare a “welcome relief” for many patients and doctors.

Since March 31, 2022, Huiyi Tianxia has joined forces with renowned experts and physicians from leading hospitals to launch a large-scale patient care initiative themed “Wisdom in Pandemic Response, Medical Care in Solidarity.” Addressing patients’ practical needs, the initiative has introduced a series of online public welfare live streams featuring famous Shanghai-based physicians, as well as free online consultations by cardiovascular specialists. Meanwhile, to alleviate the urgent difficulty of purchasing medications at home, multiple internet healthcare platforms have increased their investments to ensure the smooth operation of online consultations, medication purchases, and contactless delivery services, thereby safeguarding users’ healthy lives through cloud-based support.

Shanghai Renowned Physicians’ Public Welfare Live Stream

Special Sessions on Breast Tumors, Urologic Tumors, and Respiratory Diseases

United Against the Epidemic, Joint Protection! Throughout April, this patient care program will roll out a series of themed live streams focusing on breast tumors, urologic tumors, and respiratory diseases. During these sessions, multiple experts from hospitals such as Zhongshan Hospital Affiliated to Fudan University, Shanghai Changhai Hospital, and Shanghai First Maternity and Infant Health Hospital will conduct popular science live broadcasts on topics of concern to patients.

Currently, the inaugural live broadcast on breast cancer, jointly launched by the women’s oncology care public welfare platform “Ai Xie Hang,” has been successfully completed. Experts provided clear and accessible explanations from behind the screen, delivering an online science popularization session that was both professional and easy to understand for patients, healthcare providers, and their families across various regions.

The urologic oncology session will feature three distinguished experts: Professor Zheng Junhua from Renji Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine; Professor Yao Xudong from the Tenth People’s Hospital, Tongji University; and Professor Han Bangmin from Shanghai General Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. They will provide online insights on self-management for patients with urologic tumors amid the normalization of COVID-19 prevention and control measures.

In the special session on respiratory diseases, Professor Jin Meiling from Zhongshan Hospital Affiliated to Fudan University, Professor Zhou Min from Ruijin Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, and Professor Gu Yutong from Zhongshan Hospital Affiliated to Fudan University will deliver consecutive lectures. They will address issues faced by patients with respiratory diseases, explain precautions for daily management, prevent acute exacerbations of conditions such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) during the epidemic, and improve the quality of life for a broad population of patients.

Public Welfare Free Clinic by Renowned Cardiovascular Experts: Remote Consultations to Care for Patients

United in the Fight Against the Epidemic, Duty-Bound to Act! Communication Builds Trust, and Trust Highlights Professionalism. To help patients navigate these challenging times through face-to-face Q&A sessions, Professor Zhang Junfeng from Shanghai Ninth People’s Hospital affiliated with Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, Professor Zhao Chaohui from Tongren Hospital affiliated with Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, and Professor Liu Ban from Shanghai Tenth People’s Hospital affiliated with Tongji University will host live online consultations. They will interactively address key points for home monitoring and management of cardiovascular diseases, remotely resolve patients’ practical clinical issues, and provide professional guidance on standardized diagnosis and treatment, preventive care, and cardiac rehabilitation. Furthermore, they aim to popularize knowledge on the prevention and control of hypertension and hyperlipidemia among the general public, thereby reducing disease risk at its source.

Beyond health education, the most critical component of home-based chronic disease management is undoubtedly “medication adherence.” To address the “last mile” challenge of “Internet + Healthcare” during the pandemic, and propelled by the development of internet healthcare platforms, a growing number of high-quality, professional, and convenient “Internet+” cloud pharmacies have emerged. These platforms offer product and service packages covering multiple therapeutic areas, including cardiovascular, respiratory and gastrointestinal, and oncology diseases. Under strict prescription review protocols, they enable more patients to purchase reliable medications from home without physical contact, thereby facilitating a truly secure closed-loop home care system, reducing the risk of infection associated with travel, and joining forces to combat the pandemic.
