Recently, Shanghai Yipu Biotechnology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Yipu Biotech”) announced the completion of its Series B financing round, raising nearly RMB 100 million. This round was jointly invested by industrial capital, government investment platforms, and the listed company Yiyi Shares (SZ: 001206), among others.

Yipu Biotech, established in 2018, positions itself as a pioneer and advocate for pan-cancer early screening. It is a high-tech enterprise specializing in tumor molecular diagnostics and focused on the precision medicine industry. Leveraging a top-tier team of epigenetics experts and profound academic expertise, Yipu Biotech has deeply cultivated the field of cancer detection. Upholding its mission to “keep everyone free from cancer,” the company is committed to the early detection, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer, with the responsibility of improving survival rates among cancer patients and promoting public health.
After more than a decade of research, the core team at Yipu Biotechnology has independently discovered a series of pan-cancer biomarkers that exhibit universality across various types of tumors, thereby significantly expanding the application scope of these biomarkers.
In terms of detection technology, traditional pyrosequencing is considered the "gold standard" for methylation detection. However, the process relies on bisulfite conversion, which has drawbacks such as unstable conversion efficiency, susceptibility to DNA degradation, high requirements for operators, and dependence on expensive instruments, making its widespread adoption challenging. Yipu Bio has independently developed a methylation detection platform—ME-qPCR—that does not require bisulfite treatment. This innovation enhances detection stability and clinical operability while significantly reducing costs, raising technical barriers, and making pan-cancer biomarker detection simple and accessible.
Focusing on its core pan-cancer biomarkers and methylation detection technologies, EpiPlex Bio has filed over 30 domestic and international patents, many of which have been granted, thereby establishing a robust patent moat.

Yipu Bio currently maintains close collaborations with more than 20 top-tier hospitals in China, including Zhongshan Hospital, Huashan Hospital, Fudan University Shanghai Cancer Center, Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital of Fudan University, International Peace Maternity and Child Health Hospital of the China Welfare Institute, Changhai Hospital, Peking Union Medical College Hospital, and West China Hospital. The company has established extensive and in-depth product portfolios across various cancer types, such as female genital tract tumors (including cervical cancer and endometrial cancer), urothelial carcinoma (including bladder cancer, ureteral cancer, and renal pelvic cancer), lung cancer, thyroid cancer, and hematologic malignancies. To date, it has completed double-blind validation on over 30,000 clinical samples spanning 25 types of tumors.
Among these, the company’s female reproductive tract tumor detection products have completed double-blind validation with over 10,000 clinical samples. A series of research findings have been published in internationally renowned academic journals such as Cancer Research and Clinical and Translational Medicine, while multiple large-scale, multi-center clinical trials are currently underway. With accelerated R&D progress and continuous resource infusion, the company’s product pipeline is becoming increasingly robust.

Ms. Hua Lin, General Manager of Epimetheus Biotech, stated, “We are honored to receive the recognition and support of outstanding industrial capital. Epimetheus Biotech boasts distinct characteristics, with profound academic foundations, unique technologies, and robust clinical research, which have earned us trust from various stakeholders. After more than four years of growth, our team and operations have become increasingly refined. In the future, we will spare no effort in inviting like-minded partners to collaborate closely with all parties, advancing together to continuously promote R&D and regulatory submission processes, thereby providing clinicians and patients with the highest-quality oncology testing services and products.”
