Call for Nominations Launched: 2022 China Biopharmaceutical Industry Innovation Value Awards

At present, innovation has become the norm and a broad consensus in the global biopharmaceutical industry. Amid this overarching trend, the COVID-19 pandemic has continued to rage worldwide, subjecting the biopharmaceutical sector—charged with safeguarding human life and health—to unprecedented challenges, disruptions, and heightened attention. From government policies to corporate strategies, profound reflections are underway, all centered on innovation.

In March 2022, byInitiated by the Shanghai Biopharmaceutical Industry Association in collaboration with Yiyun Technology, and with the active support of the Shanghai Biopharmaceutical Science and Technology Development Center, the “2022 China Biopharmaceutical Industry Sci-Tech Innovation Value List” (hereinafter referred to as the “Innovation List”), poised to embark on a new journey. The “Innovation List” will be based on the growth assessment criteria accumulated over many years by Huayi Research Institute under Yiyun Technology. By integrating fundamental processes such as questionnaire surveys, interviews, data aggregation, and verification, the review panel will conduct standardized processing and comprehensive evaluation of the full-year 2021 data and public information of biopharmaceutical companies. This process aims to identify and highlight enterprises with significant industry innovation value for the year, thereby establishing an authoritative and objective industry ranking.

“The “2022 China Biopharmaceutical Industry Technological Innovation Value Ranking” will be announced on-site at the “24th Shanghai International Bio-Technology and Medicine Symposium” (BIO-FORUM 2022).

As the largest and most influential comprehensive international symposium in China’s biomedical sector, it has been held for 23 sessions to date. Always focusing on innovative development in biomedicine, it has received strong support over the years from relevant Shanghai municipal authorities, including the Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission, the Shanghai Municipal Development and Reform Commission, the Shanghai Medical Products Administration, the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, and the Shanghai Municipal Health Commission.

“The 24th Shanghai International Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Symposium (BIO-FORUM 2022), hosted by the Shanghai Biomedical Technology Development Center, will be held from June 29 to July 1, 2022.The opening ceremony is scheduled to be held at 13:30 on the afternoon of June 29 at the JW Marriott Hotel Shanghai Fengxian (No. 399 Hupan Road, Fengxian District, Shanghai). Under the theme “Breakthrough and Integration: Technological Innovation Driving High-Quality Development of Biopharmaceuticals,” BIO-FORUM 2022 will invite renowned domestic and international scholars, senior executives from biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, as well as experts from government regulatory agencies and venture capital firms. In-depth exchanges and discussions will focus on disruptive technologies in biopharmaceuticals, frontier cell therapy technologies, antibody drug development, nucleic acid therapeutics, management of human genetic resources and biosafety, innovative development of the biopharmaceutical industry in the Yangtze River Delta, youth forums, novel vaccine development, synthetic biology, green synthesis of pharmaceuticals, and biomedical engineering technologies and innovations. The conference will comprise multiple activities, including pre-conference meetings, satellite symposia, the opening ceremony, keynote speeches, thematic breakout sessions, one-on-one matchmaking, and concurrent exhibitions.
