On April 18, at the opening ceremony of the Hongqiqu Brain-Computer Interface Rehabilitation Science Forum, the Henan Province Brain-Computer Interface Rehabilitation Equipment Technology Innovation Center was officially inaugurated!
This is the first provincial brain-computer interface technology innovation platform approved for construction in China, led by Sunnyou Medical, and jointly built with Zhengzhou University and the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University. It marks a key step in Henan's innovative layout in the field of brain-computer interface rehabilitation, injecting strong momentum into the high-quality development of China's rehabilitation medical industry.

In January 2026, the Henan Provincial Department of Science and Technology released the "Notice on Approving the Construction of the Henan Brain-Computer Interface Rehabilitation Equipment Technology Innovation Center and Other Henan Technology Innovation Centers." The Henan Brain-Computer Interface Rehabilitation Equipment Technology Innovation Center, led by Sunnyou, was among the approved projects, becoming the first provincial brain-computer interface technology innovation platform to be approved for construction in China.
As the leading enterprise in the rehabilitation medical industry chain, Sunnyou has been deeply engaged in the field of rehabilitation equipment for many years and launched its Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) R&D layout in 2015. Relying on its self-built Sun-BCI Lab, the company has accumulated core technologies in areas such as EEG signal acquisition, decoding, and multimodal human-computer interaction, driving the coordinated development of 62 upstream and downstream enterprises. This has formed a complete innovation loop of "basic research - clinical transformation - industrial implementation," providing a solid industrial foundation and technical support for the center's construction.

The Brain-Computer Interface Rehabilitation Equipment Technology Innovation Center of Henan Province, led by Sunnyou Medical and co-built with Zhengzhou University and the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University, represents a model of collaborative innovation that combines "enterprise + university + Class A tertiary hospital" through complementary strengths and shared resources. After its establishment, the center will leverage the strengths of all parties to form an innovative synergy, focusing on overcoming key technologies such as high-precision decoding of EEG signals and multimodal human-computer interaction. It aims to fill multiple gaps in related fields in China, promoting brain-computer interface rehabilitation technology from laboratory to clinical application for the benefit of patients.
Currently, brain-computer interface (BCI) technology, as a globally leading science, is deeply integrating with rehabilitation medicine, becoming the core solution to address rehabilitation challenges for patients with neurological injuries. The unveiling of the Henan Brain-Computer Interface Rehabilitation Equipment Technology Innovation Center will establish its base in Henan while extending its influence across China. It aims to focus on overcoming key "bottleneck" core technologies in the BCI rehabilitation field, accelerate the transformation of scientific achievements, strengthen the growth of the rehabilitation medical equipment industry cluster, and propel Henan to become a national highland for BCI rehabilitation technology innovation, talent aggregation, and industrial development.
