Shanghai Securities News (Reporter Email) — The Hongqi Canal Brain-Computer Interface Rehabilitation Science Forum opened on April 18 in Anyang, Henan, with multiple signing ceremonies, unveilings, and new product launches held successively.Sunnyou MedicalChairman, General Manager, and CTO He Yongzheng told reporters from the Shanghai Stock Exchange that in 2026, brain-computer interface was listed as one of the future industries in the government work report. In recent years, the state and various levels of departments have issued multiple policies to support its development. Non-invasive brain-computer interface technology, which is relatively mature and safe in application, is promoting rehabilitation treatment from passive training to active rehabilitation, with significant improvements in clinical outcomes and efficiency.
At the conference, 26 scientific research institutes and medical institutions, including Beijing Institute of Technology, Northwestern Polytechnical University, the First Hospital of China Medical University, and the General Hospital of the Eastern Theater Command of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, officially joined the Brain-Computer Interface Rehabilitation Technology Innovation Consortium led by Sunnyou. Sunnyou signed a joint research and development cooperation agreement on minimally invasive brain-computer interface technology with Niels Birbaumer, academician of the German National Academy of Sciences and professor at the University of Tübingen. Both parties expressed that they will focus on addressing core bottlenecks in minimally invasive brain-computer interface technology through collaborative efforts, promoting its clinical application in challenging rehabilitation scenarios such as disorders of consciousness, and developing internationally competitive technological achievements.
The unveiling ceremony of the Brain-Computer Interface Rehabilitation Equipment Technology Innovation Center of Henan Province was also held during the conference. The center, led by Sunnyou, was jointly established with Zhengzhou University and the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University, pooling the advantageous resources of the three parties to form a synergistic force for development.
At the end of the opening ceremony, Sunnyou Medical unveiled six new brain-computer interface rehabilitation products with independent intellectual property rights, covering core scenarios such as motor rehabilitation, neuromodulation, and swallowing disorder intervention. These innovations provide more precise, efficient, and personalized rehabilitation solutions for patients with stroke, spinal cord injury, and swallowing disorders, driving rehabilitation treatment from passive intervention towards active participation.
"We will focus on the application of non-invasive brain-computer interfaces in the field of clinical rehabilitation, helping patients move from empirical rehabilitation to precise rehabilitation, and from passive training to active rehabilitation, truly bringing tangible value to patients' functional recovery," said He Yongzheng.
