Recently, Wuxi Norroy Bioscience Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Norroy Bioscience”), a company focused on the R&D of cutting-edge radiopharmaceuticals and innovative drug screening, announced the completion of its Pre-A financing round amounting to tens of millions of yuan. The round was led by existing investor Xinghua Dingli Capital, with additional investment from Zhuhai Bairui Hengsheng. This funding will further strengthen Norroy Bioscience’s nuclear medicine innovation platform and drive substantial progress in its industrial layout. Previously, Norroy Bioscience completed an angel financing round exceeding ten million yuan in November 2021.

The proceeds from Nuoyu Pharma’s current financing round will be primarily allocated to expanding its new drug R&D pipeline and enhancing its R&D platform, advancing the Investigational New Drug (IND) applications in both China and the United States for several clinically validated innovative drugs (including but not limited to radiopharmaceuticals). Among these, two projects are First-in-Class global innovative therapies designed to rapidly address significant unmet clinical needs. Additionally, the funding will support the commercialization of several “Sunmao”-series radiopharmaceutical equipment products, breaking the long-standing monopoly held by international brands and advancing the modernization of equipment for radiopharmaceutical R&D, manufacturing, and clinical application in China.

Fang Peng, Founder of Nuoyu Pharmastated: “‘Addressing clinical needs with an end-in-mind approach’ was the original intention behind our team’s establishment of Nuoyu Pharmaceuticals. Amid the rapid advancement of precision diagnostics and therapeutics, Nuoyu Pharmaceuticals will fully leverage its accumulated expertise in nuclear medicine to progressively refine its technological platforms and strategies for new drug development, thereby contributing to the growth of the precision medicine industry. We are deeply grateful for the trust placed in us by Xinghua Dingli and Zhuhai Bairui Hengsheng, and especially for their unwavering support during the current pandemic-related lockdowns. We will redouble our efforts to drive the company’s overall business forward at an accelerated pace.”

Wu Yuding, Founding Partner of Xinghua DingliIt stated, “Nuclear medicine is a critical technology for disease diagnosis and treatment. With the continuous improvement and optimization of the industrial environment and sustained technological breakthroughs, innovative achievements have been emerging continuously, and the nuclear medicine industry has entered a period of explosive growth. Leveraging its solid foundation in clinical practice and its innovative, unique new drug development strategy, Nuoyu Pharmaceutical has explored multiple novel targets, independently developed several new drugs, and rapidly obtained clinical validation, with many clinical results proving highly encouraging. We firmly believe that Nuoyu Pharmaceutical can lead innovation in the nuclear medicine industry and contribute to addressing current unmet clinical needs.”

Nuoyu Pharma, founded in 2018, is an R&D-driven enterprise specializing in the independent development of innovative drugs. With over a decade of deep expertise in the radiopharmaceutical industry, the founding team adheres to the “bedside-bench-bedside” philosophy to guide new drug development. By integrating molecular imaging technology for “in vivo tissue PK-PD-based innovative drug screening” into the drug development framework, the company has reshaped strategies and processes for new drug development. It has gradually established an integrated industrial pattern covering both upstream and downstream sectors, encompassing the independent R&D and manufacturing of innovative drugs, novel radiopharmaceuticals, and radiopharmaceutical equipment.

Nuoyu Pharma has jointly established the Radiopharmaceutical Clinical Translation Center with Jiangnan University and its affiliated hospital, and collaborates with numerous leading medical R&D institutions and universities both domestically and internationally. Nuoyu Pharma’s core research team comprises young yet experienced experts in radiopharmaceuticals and innovative drugs from China and abroad. The team boasts a comprehensive system for lead compound screening, clinical translation, and new drug R&D management, and has partnered with several listed Chinese innovative pharmaceutical companies to co-develop novel radiopharmaceuticals.

In recent years, China’s nuclear medicine industry has ushered in a period of rapid development. On June 24, 2021, eight national ministries and commissions jointly issued the Medium- and Long-Term Development Plan for Medical Isotopes (2021–2035), the first programmatic document in China specifically addressing the application of nuclear technology in healthcare and medical settings, thereby presenting unprecedented opportunities for the growth of nuclear medicine. Lutetium Lu 177 dotatate (177Lu-DOTATATE), the first radiopharmaceutical approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors, achieved global sales of approximately USD 480 million in 2021. In March 2022, the innovative radiopharmaceutical 177Lu-PSMA-617 received FDA approval in the United States and is poised to become a blockbuster product. In recent years, multinational pharmaceutical companies such as Novartis, Bayer, Johnson & Johnson, and Boston Scientific have made substantial investments in the nuclear medicine sector, while innovative start-ups like Fusion Pharmaceuticals and RayzeBio continue to emerge. With frequent breakthroughs and heightened activity, the nuclear medicine field has become a focal point for investment.

Nuoyu Pharma is rooted in the technological advancements and substantial growth of the nuclear medicine industry. By addressing significant unmet clinical needs as its primary strategic objective, the company has gradually established a precision medicine development strategy integrating diagnosis and therapy. Driven by a dual-wheel strategy of “rapid clinical proof-of-concept” and “accelerated product launch,” Nuoyu Pharma has strategically positioned itself along two dimensions: First-in-Class for novel targets and Best-in-Class for mature targets. The company has successfully completed target screening and validated development strategies for dozens of targets across major disease areas, including pancreatic cancer, renal cell carcinoma, gastric cancer, ovarian cancer, prostate cancer, and Parkinson’s disease. In addition to preclinical candidate (PCC) projects that have entered the Investigational New Drug (IND) application pipeline, the company has obtained robust validation data for at least two breakthrough new drug development strategies, which hold the potential to replace the currently predominant ADC (Antibody-Drug Conjugate) and ARC (Antibody-Radionuclide Conjugate) therapies in the industry.
