Innovative Breakthroughs in CGT: A Convergence at East Taihu Lake! One year ago, Pu Xin Biology and Tongxieyi co-hosted the “The East Taihu Lake Summit on the Industrialization of Cell and Gene Therapy, at which the founding ceremony of Puxin Biologics was held。
On July 16, Puxin Bio, a leading CDMO in cell therapy, once again partnered with Tongxieyi to hold the “2nd Dongtaihu Summit on Industrial Development of Cell and Gene Therapy” on the occasion of the first anniversary of Puxin Bio’s brand launch.
This is a meticulously curated “CGT Presidents’ Lounge” event by Tongxieyi: bringing together founders and CEOs of nearly 100 leading innovative CGT institutions for a summer gathering by the shores of East Taihu Lake. Half a day of high-level dialogue, followed by an elegant cocktail reception… together discussing the future path of CGT drug innovation in China, and jointly exploring opportunities for win-win collaboration across the upstream and downstream segments of the industry chain.
During the conference, the Tongxieyi Cell and Gene Therapy Club elected its third Council.

During the conference, the Tongxieyi CGT Club elected a new chairperson and nine members of the standing council, and deliberated to formulate the Initiative for the Development of China’s Cell and Gene Therapy Industry.
The Tongxieyi CGT Club aims to unite visionary and mission-driven talents in China specializing in the research and development (R&D), clinical application, and industrialization of cell and gene therapies. Together, we explore the scientific essence of innovation in cell and gene therapy R&D, promote the scientifically grounded formulation of regulatory guidelines, exchange and share R&D experiences and insights, cultivate and develop more industry R&D professionals, and foster the healthy development of novel cell and gene therapy drug development in China.

Wei WenshengVideo Address by the Professor
Advisor, Tongxieyi CGT Club
Professor, School of Life Sciences, Peking University
In his opening remarks, Professor Wei stated, “No technology exists in isolation; it must be integrated into the industrial ecosystem to realize its true value, and cell and gene therapy (CGT) is no exception. I believe that the industry leaders present here have a deeper appreciation of this point. In my view, this is precisely the rationale behind the establishment of the CGT Club by Tongxieyi: to create an interactive platform for exchange, thereby fostering industry clustering and ecosystem development.”

Fan XiaohuDr.'s Video Address
Executive Director of the Tongxieyi CGT Club
Former Co-Founder and CSO of Nanjing Legend Biotech
“The development of China’s CGT sector has been remarkably rapid, yielding a series of significant advancements and achievements. I firmly believe that China will emerge as the global leader in the field of cell and gene therapy (CGT). Currently, we have already surpassed Europe and the United States in many specialized subsectors, and this trend is poised to expand further. Over the next two to three decades, CGT will become the mainstream direction in biopharmaceuticals. Let us strive together toward this future.”
He said, “Having reached the age of twenty and undergone the capping ceremony, I grew ever more admiring of the ways of the sages and worthies.”
A Sincere Heart, a Regret-Free Life in Medicine.
CGT, innovative drugs... The road ahead is long and arduous.

Review and Prospects of Cellular Therapy for Hematologic Lymphoma
Since the FDA approved the CD20 monoclonal antibody rituximab in November 1997 for the treatment of B-cell lymphoma, and subsequently approved the small-molecule targeted therapy imatinib mesylate in May 2001 for the treatment of chronic myeloid leukemia, hematologic malignancies have entered a new era of molecular targeted therapy. Currently, small-molecule targeted drugs, monoclonal antibodies, bispecific antibodies, antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), and CAR-T cell therapies are emerging in rapid succession for the treatment of hematologic malignancies, demonstrating encouraging efficacy and holding considerable promise for the future.

iPSC-CAR-NK Cell Therapy
Limitations such as single targets or narrow indications, constraints in clinical application, and high costs leading to expensive pricing are all pain points associated with autologous cell therapy. Next-generation immune cell therapeutic products must feature universality, scalability for mass production, and efficacy against solid tumors. Cell therapy is currently a hot sector in innovative drug development, with enormous market potential. The race has only just begun; innovation and resilience are the two core elements of success.

From Cloning to Half-Cloning: Technological Advances Drive Scientific Development
Applications of semi-cloning technology include rapid modeling of complex diseases, genetic screening during embryonic development, studies on the developmental regulation of genomic imprinting, and genome tagging initiatives. In summary, semi-cloning techniques, based on microinsemination and cloning, facilitate research in development and disease.

Clinical Development Strategy for CGT Therapies in the New Environment
Challenges in Clinical Trials of CGT Therapies Encompass Multiple Aspects. First, the uniqueness of each cell and gene therapy product and its corresponding clinical trial. Second, the complex logistics tracking and management required for cell and gene therapy products and patient cellular tissue samples during clinical trials. Third, the variability in patient responses to cell and gene therapies. Fourth, the specific regulations and approval processes for cell and gene therapies in different countries. Fifth, the qualification requirements for hospitals administering cell and gene therapies. The rapid development of CDMOs/CROs will facilitate the development of CGT therapies.
Moderated by Dr. Cheng Zengjiang, founder of the Tongxieyi Forum, leading figures from various innovative institutions presented their companies’ product portfolios and expressed their aspirations for future collaboration.

Board Meeting Venue

Breaking free from a roundtable,
A long, straight table is set up.
The Clash Between Tradition and Modernity,
A Feast of the Classical and the Contemporary.
No need to drag Li Bai into a drunken stupor,
Can also sprinkle frost across the Nine Provinces,
Forging bonds across the four seas,
Together, let us compose a new chapter in CGT.

Amidst the clinking of wine cups and the shuffle of gaming chips, all the guests are in high spirits.
The moon hangs high among the branches, at its peak.
Innovative thoughts mingle with the chirping of cicadas and the croaking of frogs,
Riding the shimmering waves of East Taihu Lake,
Falling into the sun, moon, and stars.
This is the true essence of a free-spirited cocktail party,
This is the Tongxieyi Executive Lounge.

"Fellow Travelers,"
"Why Need We Have Met Before?"
When the cocktail party turns into a sing-along for guests,
The gathering of industry leaders has thus become the company’s annual conference.
