In recent years, as population aging has intensified and substantial market demand has emerged in the post-pandemic era, public health awareness has risen rapidly, drawing increasing attention to medical devices. The share of medical device exports accounted for 53.53% of total pharmaceutical product exports, breaking the long-standing dominance of Western medicine products, which had previously comprised half of China’s pharmaceutical exports. Among these, in vitro diagnostic (IVD) products have demonstrated a steady and positive trend in their international expansion. Given the fierce competition within the domestic industry, expanding overseas is of significant importance for promoting the upgrading of China’s industrial structure and enhancing the competitiveness and influence of the IVD sector. Sub-sectors such as vascular intervention and neurointervention, having achieved innovation-driven domestic substitution, are also rapidly entering the global arena and developing overseas market strategies. In the future, to continuously align with international standards, Chinese local enterprises must firmly base themselves on innovation and R&D to achieve sustainable long-term growth in global markets.
