In August 2022, Impress, a European specialist orthodontic healthcare provider and portfolio company of CareCapital Investment Group, announced its acquisition of the U.S. clinic chain Uniform Teeth. The aim is to establish the world’s largest professional clear aligner orthodontic clinic network, delivering high-quality clear aligner orthodontic diagnosis and treatment services to patients while creating an industry-leading platform for the career development and continuous learning of dental professionals. Currently, Impress and Uniform Teeth operate approximately 140 clinics across Europe and the United States, with more than 500 orthodontists, dentists, and clinical staff.
Impress, founded in Barcelona, Spain, in 2019, is a specialized medical institution dedicated to providing orthodontic treatment. Dr. Khaled Kasem, Co-founder and Chief Orthodontist of Impress, together with his team, is committed to empowering clinicians through innovative technologies—including AI-driven solutions, digital management software, and remote treatment monitoring systems—to enhance the efficacy and efficiency of orthodontic care.
In 2021, Impress secured $50 million in Series A financing, led by CareCapital. This July, the company closed a $125 million Series B round. In just three years, Impress has emerged as a phenomenal chain brand of orthodontic clinics, with over 130 clinics spanning eight countries, including Spain, Italy, Germany, the United Kingdom, Portugal, and France. It has not only pioneered a unique clinic operational model but also demonstrated proven excellence in clinical outcomes.
Uniform Teeth was founded in San Francisco in 2018 by Meghan Jewitt and Dr. Aamodt. The company has developed proprietary technologies, including AI-driven digital medical records and 3D treatment planning software, with a commitment to making high-quality orthodontic care accessible to more patients. It currently operates eight clinics in San Francisco, Chicago, and Seattle.
The European and American markets constitute the largest and most significant segment for clear aligner orthodontics, accounting for approximately 70% of the global market. CareCapital introduced Impress to Uniform Teeth, a U.S.-based chain of dental clinics that shares similar treatment philosophies, playing a pivotal role in Impress’s expansion and development by facilitating its successful entry into the critical U.S. market.
Following this merger, Impress and Uniform Teeth will join forces to leverage the close integration of digital dentistry technologies with evidence-based clinical care, thereby establishing industry-leading customer experiences, clinical outcomes, and patient satisfaction. This partnership aims to deliver high-quality orthodontic treatment and care to a broader patient population. By the end of 2023, the combined entity is projected to operate more than 50 clinics across the United States.
