Sichuan-Chongqing Forum on Smart Healthcare Innovation and Healthy Development & 4th China-UK Health and Medical Big Data Forum Opens Registration

At the intersection of the Belt and Road Initiative and the Yangtze River Economic Belt, a national-level urban agglomeration centered on Sichuan Province and Chongqing Municipality is demonstrating a positive trend of dual-core, convergent development that drives high-quality regional growth through coordinated leadership. In October 2021, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council issued the Outline of the Plan for the Construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing Twin-City Economic Circle, which stipulates adhering to the principle of “Sichuan and Chongqing as one chessboard,” optimizing and integrating regional resources, and significantly enhancing overall regional competitiveness. The Outline further promotes the development of medical consortia and cross-regional healthcare services between Sichuan and Chongqing by strengthening public health service systems, optimizing the allocation of medical resources, and fostering co-construction and sharing of elderly care service systems, while supporting the establishment of regional specialty alliances and telemedicine collaboration networks. Against this backdrop, Sichuan and Chongqing have leveraged smart healthcare as a key driver to actively seize opportunities for regional economic development. By building an integrated regional smart healthcare system as a nexus, they have continuously deepened regional integration and innovated development models, achieving remarkable results.
