Since its establishment in 2009, Biocytogen has remained committed to driving new drug development through technological innovation. Leveraging gene editing as its foundational technology, Biocytogen has established a series of innovative genetically engineered animal and cell models, represented by humanized target mice and severely immunodeficient mice. The company provides preclinical pharmacological and efficacy evaluation services to pharmaceutical companies worldwide, significantly advancing the global new drug development process.

After six years of independent research and development, the company has created its proprietary SUPCE chromosome engineering technology, which overcomes the size limitations of gene editing fragments. Building on this foundation, Biocytogen developed the RenMice platform for fully human antibody mice, establishing five major antibody technology platforms: fully human monoclonal antibodies, bispecific antibodies, bispecific antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), GPCR antibodies, and TCR-like antibodies. These platforms constitute the core competitiveness of Biocytogen’s antibody drug discovery capabilities. The “Thousand Mice, Ten Thousand Antibodies” initiative, centered on the RenMice platform, enables Biocytogen to conduct target validation and antibody drug discovery for over 1,000 potential novel drug targets. Leveraging its five major technology platforms, Biocytogen continuously generates highly promising antibody drug candidates. Through collaborative development and licensing agreements with global pharmaceutical companies, Biocytogen is committed to becoming a global source of innovative new drugs.

Driven by gene editing as its foundational technology, Biocytogen continuously delivers highly promising drug candidates through its disruptive antibody screening and development strategies, spanning from innovative animal models and preclinical drug evaluation to target validation and antibody drug discovery.

Leveraging gene editing as its foundational technology, Biocytogen has successfully developed more than 2,500 innovative animal models since 2013, including humanized mouse models targeting over 2,500 distinct targets. In the future, more than 1,000 additional innovative models will be developed and launched into the market. Building on its robust capabilities in innovative model development, Biocytogen has established a CRO service platform encompassing preclinical pharmacology and efficacy studies, PK/PD analyses, and other R&D services. The company continues to provide high-quality R&D services to global pharmaceutical companies, accelerating the worldwide new drug development process.

In 2020, Biocytogen launched the world’s first large-scale antibody drug development initiative, the “Thousand Mice, Ten Thousand Antibodies” Project, aimed at target validation and antibody discovery and screening for over 1,000 potential drug targets. Over the past two years, with the steady advancement of the project, the company has completed the generation of RenMice knockout mice for more than 1,000 target genes. Among these, over 300 targets have entered the antibody screening phase, hits molecules have been identified for more than 240 targets, and nearly 20 preclinical candidate (PCC) molecules have been generated in total.

Leveraging its unique evidence-based in vivo efficacy screening model, Biocytogen has established a pipeline of more than 10 drug candidates, including monoclonal antibodies (mAbs), bispecific antibodies (bsAbs), and bispecific antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), among which three products have been licensed out or are being co-developed. Furthermore, two products, YH003 (a CD40 mAb) and YH001 (a CTLA-4 mAb), are currently in Phase IIa international multicenter clinical trials. Their outstanding Phase I clinical data have demonstrated favorable safety profiles and preliminary anti-tumor activity, fully validating the efficiency and reliability of Biocytogen’s unique preclinical screening system.

Rooted in China and oriented toward the world, Biocytogen partners with global collaborators through an open and flexible business model, committed to becoming a global source of innovative new drugs.

Biocytogen’s innovative animal models have been successfully marketed to over 20 countries worldwide, gaining widespread recognition. The company has completed preclinical evaluations for more than 500 antibody drug molecules for over 200 pharmaceutical companies. It has licensed its RenMice platform to 14 companies—including Merck KGaA (Germany), BeiGene, Innovent Biologics, and Xencor (USA)—and launched 32 R&D projects. Leveraging its “Thousand Mice, Ten Thousand Antibodies” initiative, Biocytogen has entered into 24 collaborations for the preclinical development and licensing of antibody drug molecules with 15 companies, such as Merck KGaA (Germany), RemeGen, China Resources Bio-pharmaceutical, Nanjing Chia Tai Tianqing Pharmaceutical, and LiberoThera (Japan). Together with partners including RemeGen, TRACON Pharmaceuticals (USA), and Avidity Biosciences, Biocytogen is jointly advancing the R&D of various antibody drug molecules at both preclinical and clinical stages. Looking ahead, backed by its robust R&D platform, Biocytogen will continue to deliver promising products, expand its presence in domestic and international markets, and meet the needs of global drug development enterprises. We are confident that all business segments of Biocytogen will maintain rapid growth, striving to become a biotechnology company with global influence.

Regarding the company’s future development, Dr. Shen Yuelei, Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Biocytogen, stated: “The company’s growth has been driven by the dedicated efforts of all employees, as well as the strong support from local governments and shareholders. Our listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange represents capital market recognition of Biocytogen’s past achievements and confidence in our future prospects. We believe that, bolstered by our Hong Kong listing, Biocytogen will further strengthen its innovative R&D capabilities, continuously deliver high-potential products and services, pursue flexible and pragmatic commercial collaborations, and accelerate the globalization of our business.
