Oral Medical Device R&D and Manufacturer

Looking at the oral care industry, leading brands in adult dentistry have already emerged, creating a highly competitive "red ocean" market across China. However, pediatric dentistry, as a niche segment, remains an emerging and high-potential sector.

At the end of 2021, iProsth completed a Series A financing round worth tens of millions of US dollars, further strengthening its leading position in the field of early orthodontic correction for children; in early 2022, Weimeizi, the parent company of the children's oral care brand Saky Kids, submitted a prospectus to list on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange; in March, Smartee Denti-Technology announced the completion of a RMB 500 million Series D financing round, and successively launched Smartee Teen “Occlusion Guidance Edition” and Smartee Teen “Early Correction Edition” in early 2022, targeting malocclusion in children and adolescents, which together constitute Smartee’s “Invisible Orthodontic Solutions for Children and Adolescents.”

In June, the children’s oral care market became even more vibrant. Chongqing Dengkang Oral Care, the parent company of Leng Suan Ling, disclosed its prospectus and planned to list on the Main Board of the Shenzhen Stock Exchange. Its children’s oral care brand “Bei Le Le” and its high-end infant and toddler oral care brand “Meng Ya” were the fastest-growing toothpaste segments within the company, maintaining a gross profit margin of around 60%. Meanwhile, the oral care brand Canban announced the launch of its new children’s oral care brand, Canban Kid’s, developing oral care products tailored to different age groups of children. In the same month, HIbeauty Yinxiu, the clear aligner orthodontics brand under Topchoice Medical, held a promotional event for its “Xiao Mei” pediatric orthodontic product, intensifying its efforts in the early orthodontic treatment market.

In fact, pediatric dentistry is not an emerging field. Between 2016 and 2019, it garnered significant attention, with numerous Chinese pediatric dental brands such as Orangedental, Zhengfangyuan Dental, Ruilei Dental, and Lilac Dental securing financing in succession. However, after a period of fervor, the pediatric dental market fell into “silence.” Now, after several years of consolidation, driven by endogenous demand, policy incentives, and market factors, pediatric dentistry has once again captured the market’s attention.

Has Pediatric Dentistry Made a “Comeback”? What Is the Future Evolutionary Path of the Industry? VCBeat has communicated with numerous pediatric dental practitioners in China to clarify the current development status, challenges, and trends in the country’s pediatric dentistry sector.

Pediatric Dental Chains Turn Inward: Early Orthodontic Treatment Achieves Technological Breakthroughs

Pediatric dentistry has gradually come into the public eye since 2016, with a surge in financing events and new product launches.

In terms of financing, Orangedental completed five rounds of funding over four years, and Square Dental completed three rounds in 2018. Several other pediatric dental brands, including Qingmiao Dental, Mommy Knows Pediatric Dentistry, and Ruilei Dental, also secured significant investments across various funding rounds. Additionally, Smartee Denti-Technology, Romu Technology, and Shanghai Born Digital Technology each completed two rounds of financing between 2016 and 2019.

Several comprehensive dental brands have also launched pediatric dental services. For instance, Meivie Dental established the DUANG DUANG Pediatric Dental brand in early 2018, providing customized preventive and therapeutic oral care services for children aged 0–12. In June 2019, Angelalign introduced its pediatric facial management solution, angelalign KiD. In December 2019, Invisalign First was launched. Bonsmile, a company specializing in pediatric orthodontics, collaborated in 2019 with Dr. Xiong Guoping, a Ph.D. in orthodontics from West China School of Stomatology, to jointly develop Bonsmile i-Free, an ultra-early rapid clear aligner system for correcting anterior crossbite.

Furthermore, as early as 2017, Topchoice Medical’s pediatric services generated nearly RMB 164 million, with pediatric dentistry accounting for 14% of Little White Rabbit Dental’s revenue, while pediatric orthodontics comprised 30% of Ke’en Dental’s business.

InTaer Gai, Founder and CEO of OrangedentalIt appears that pediatric dentistry, as a specialized niche within single-category operations, was once regarded by the industry as a “less worthwhile” specialty due to its lower average transaction value and children’s unpredictable emotions and limited cooperation during treatment. However, between 2016 and 2019, with improvements in economic living standards and consumer spending power, people placed higher demands on oral disease prevention, treatment, and the overall experience of dental medical services.

Furthermore, the comprehensive relaxation of the “two-child” policy in 2016 spurred a short-term increase in newborns, thereby expanding the fundamental base of the age-eligible pediatric population. In 2018, the National Health Commission issued a series of documents emphasizing the need to strengthen specialized medical capabilities in women’s and children’s healthcare and to support social forces in establishing pediatric healthcare institutions, ushering in a favorable period for pediatric dentistry.

However, while the industry at large was thriving, China’s pediatric dentistry sector did not take off as expected. Entering 2020, pediatric dental chains advanced quietly; aside from Topchoice Medical’s acquisition of Sanye Pediatric Dentistry, financing activities or other notable developments were rarely seen.

Targay believes that many pediatric dental brands underwent rapid expansion and aggressive market capture in previous years, requiring a period to digest and consolidate the substantial capital and resources acquired in such a short timeframe. Consequently, after 2019, numerous pediatric dental chain brands began to undergo restructuring and adjustments, focusing on strengthening internal capabilities, which led to a slowdown in their overall scaling process. Furthermore, the sudden public health emergency of the COVID-19 pandemic had a significant adverse impact on offline service industries.Targay revealed that dental clinics have clearly noticed two trends: first, a decline in the number of new patients; second, customers have become more conservative and hesitant when facing high-ticket expenses.

While pediatric dental chain brands have focused on inward growth, the field of pediatric orthodontics has appeared much more outward-looking in recent years.

In 2020, Shanghai Born Dental fully acquired Cleer Medical Technology Co., Ltd. and the NoBrace series of orthodontic products, comprehensively launching the R&D, production, and market promotion of clear aligners, with a strong focus on full-cycle facial management. Bossmile, a digital clear aligner company, joined Lepu Medical (renamed Lepu Leqi in January 2022) after completing a Pre-B financing round worth tens of millions of yuan in 2021. In 2021, Romu Technology, which specializes in digital orthodontics for children, launched its All-in-1 service for full-cycle pediatric facial development management. iPrevent, focusing on early childhood orthodontics, introduced the EM3 full-series product by combining removable appliances and thin-film aligners with its existing silicone ETA aligners.

In terms of financing, Romu Technology completed a tens-of-millions-of-US-dollars Series B+ round in 2020; in mid-2021, Aipulisi completed a tens-of-millions-of-US-dollars Series A round; on December 29, 2021, Zhengli Technology, a domestic provider of clear aligner solutions, announced the completion of its Pre-C round financing exceeding RMB 100 million; and in 2022, Smartee Denti-Tech, a developer and manufacturer of dental medical devices, completed a RMB 500 million Series D round.

Smartee Denti-Technology stated that the sustained development of early orthodontic treatment for children is attributable to two factors. On one hand, there is a large population of age-eligible children, resulting in substantial demand.China’s population aged 0–14 has reached 250 million, accounting for 17.95% of the national total. According to data from the Chinese Stomatological Association, the prevalence of dental and maxillofacial developmental abnormalities among children in China exceeds 70%. Demand for diagnostic, therapeutic, and corrective products for malocclusion in children and adolescents is increasing year by year, and manufacturers of clear aligners are sequentially investing resources into developing clear aligner solutions tailored for pediatric and adolescent patients.

On the other hand, technological breakthroughs have laid the foundation.Since its emergence in the late 1990s, the clear aligner industry has witnessed significant breakthroughs in both aligner materials and treatment technologies, laying a solid foundation for manufacturers to develop malocclusion solutions tailored to the growth and developmental characteristics of children and adolescents.

As stated at the beginning of the article, when the gears of time turned to 2022, the pediatric dentistry industry once again stood in the market’s spotlight.

In response to the increasingly diverse early orthodontic treatment solutions for children emerging in the market,Hou Yafei, Founder of AipulisiShared insights from two perspectives: First, the pediatric dental market is viewed favorably for the long term, driven by multiple factors including the evolving consumption concepts of the new generation of parents born in the 1980s and 1990s, as well as the prevalence of the "appearance economy"; second,Amidst the fiercely competitive “red ocean” of the adult oral care market, numerous companies have actively or passively entered the pediatric dentistry sector in pursuit of breakthroughs, growth, and even survival.

Talgai believes that the 2022 centralized procurement of dental implants has had a certain impact on adult dentistry, which will force some oral care brands to start looking for new growth points.“Over the next one to two years, an increasing number of people will begin to focus on pediatric dentistry, perhaps because it has become the most viable option for avoiding intense competition in the adult dental market.”

Previously, VCBeat analyzed that the centralized procurement of dental implants would lead to two trends in the downstream medical service sector. One trend is that leading industry players, leveraging their high-quality dentist resources and services, will siphon off the majority of patients within their regions. These companies will enhance customer stickiness and achieve higher premiums by offering comprehensive oral health solutions (including, besides dental implants, ancillary services such as family-oriented oral care). The other trend is that companies with weaker brands may experience “revenue growth without profit growth,” or even see declining profits in this business segment due to price wars within the industry. The latter group represents potential entrants into the pediatric dentistry market.

Overall, the pediatric dental industry has become more rational and healthier..” According to Tar Gai, as the COVID-19 pandemic enters its third year, the industry needs to shift from a passive to a proactive stance, making preparedness for the normalization of pandemic control a priority. It must not remain stuck in place or stagnate due to the pandemic. In 2022, Orange Dental will also take the initiative, aiming to enter a new phase of steady development in its “third three-year period” by 2023.

Parental market education needs improvement, pediatric dentists and institutional resources are scarce, and the role of payers is not significant.

Oral health in children is the cornerstone of overall health, exerting a significant influence on craniofacial morphology and systemic development. The prevention and treatment of pediatric oral diseases constitute a vital component of dentistry. Common pediatric oral conditions include dental caries, pulpal and periapical diseases, periodontal and oral mucosal diseases, dental trauma, and developmental dental anomalies. Authentic pediatric dentistry requires the application of clinical techniques from various dental specialties to provide comprehensive oral healthcare and services for pediatric patients.

Compared with the adult oral cavity, the pediatric oral cavity exhibits significant clinical distinctiveness and market differentiation.

First, there is a separation between the beneficiaries (children) and the decision-makers (parents) on the consumer side, with parents being the primary target for market education.Smartee Denti-Technology stated: Taking early orthodontic intervention as an example, the optimal treatment window for children with anterior crossbite (commonly known as "underbite") is between the ages of 3 and 5. However, children in this age group typically lack the self-awareness to seek orthodontic care independently. This necessitates that parents possess a certain level of knowledge about pediatric oral development to ensure early detection and timely treatment of their children's dental issues. Currently, the scientific parenting concepts and heightened awareness of pediatric oral health among the younger generation of parents, primarily those born in the 1990s, have objectively driven growth in the pediatric dental market. On one hand, parents are more willing to devote greater attention and resources to their children; on the other hand, their understanding and perceptions regarding the importance of healthy oral and dental development are undergoing a positive shift.

In addition to parental initiative, the resolution of children's oral health issues also depends on children's compliance.Due to their young age, children often have difficulty concentrating and are less cooperative than adults, necessitating emotional soothing and behavioral guidance from pediatric dentists. Therefore, dental clinics that understand children’s psychological characteristics, provide specialized diagnostic and treatment services, and offer a child-friendly clinical experience hold a competitive advantage and are more likely to be favored by both children and their parents. Most such clinics cater to middle- and high-income populations, with higher average revenue per user (ARPU), and typically rely on strong word-of-mouth reputation to attract potential new patients.

To this end, Smartee Denti-Technology’s clear aligner products for children and adolescents have obtained official Disney IP authorization, incorporating the beloved characters Princess Elsa and Spider-Man across multiple touchpoints—including product packaging, aligner storage cases, incentive stamps, check-in reward charts, and a wear-time management mini-program—ensuring that these cherished Disney companions support children throughout their orthodontic journey.

Aipulisi adopts a “personalized” customized solution approach. The company has independently developed the ETA pediatric dental aligner, which holds independent intellectual property rights and is specifically designed to address malocclusion in children aged 5–12. Made from medical-grade silicone and crafted through personalized design and processing, the aligner significantly improves fit and comfort, thereby enhancing compliance among pediatric patients. Coupled with precise personalization, this approach yields superior orthodontic outcomes. Aipulisi’s “personalized” design is underpinned by its pioneering establishment of a database comprising hundreds of thousands of pediatric malocclusion cases and digital pediatric cephalometric X-ray images, as well as its development of China’s first “pediatric cephalometric analysis software.”

The value of oral disease prevention in China remains to be recognized by the market.Oral health awareness among Chinese residents is generally weak, with an emphasis on treatment rather than prevention. There is limited understanding of pediatric oral prevention, management, and care, along with insufficient attention to routine pediatric dental check-ups and inadequate awareness of primary tooth protection. Consumer awareness regarding pediatric oral health management needs improvement, particularly in relation to professional prevention-oriented oral care. The prices for oral prevention services in the market are extremely low, sometimes even below cost. This creates a paradox: essential and correct practices do not receive appropriate market recognition, forcing pediatric dental institutions to incur high costs in patient education and persuasion. As a result, the entire pediatric oral prevention sector faces significant market challenges.“Talgai said.

According to forecasts in the “Market Outlook and Investment Strategy Planning Analysis Report on the Oral Healthcare Industry” released by Qianzhan Industry Research Institute, the market size of China’s children’s oral health sector—covering pediatric oral care, prevention, and treatment—is expected to exceed RMB 500 billion.

Yet in stark contrast to its enormous market size,In China, supply-side resources for pediatric dentistry are extremely scarce, primarily manifested in the shortage of specialized pediatric dental institutions and qualified pediatric dentists.

Targay believes that the pediatric dental care sector still faces challenges such as unbalanced regional development and low market penetration. The overall landscape of the pediatric dental services market remains highly fragmented, with nationwide chain leaders yet to fully emerge. Most institutions are relatively small in scale, resulting in limited competition among chain brands. Taking Shanghai as an example, the largest adult dental chain brand operates 30 clinics in the city, which accounts for only a small proportion of the total 2,000 clinics. The pediatric dental market has not yet fully entered a zero-sum game phase; growth opportunities still exist.

From a medical perspective, children are in greater need of child-friendly clinical environments and specialized pediatric dental services. In pediatric oral health, prevention outweighs treatment; preventive interventions by dentists can effectively prevent the development of dental caries and periodontal diseases. The unique characteristics of the two sets of teeth in children also determine the necessity of specialized pediatric dentists.

However, China has a severe shortage of specialized pediatric dentists. According to Shanghai Smartee Denti-Technology Co., Ltd., there are only slightly more than 2,200 pediatric dentists registered with the Pediatric Dentistry Committee of the Chinese Stomatological Association, meaning that there is only one specialized pediatric dentist for every 111,500 children on average. This falls far short of meeting the growing demand for pediatric oral care. In addition, limited enrollment in pediatric dentistry programs at professional institutions results in an insufficient supply of dentists, leading to a talent shortage at the source. Furthermore, during dental treatment, the non-replicable nature of dentists’ skills becomes more pronounced, and the cost associated with this “labor-intensive” aspect is also relatively high.

Currently, the number of orthodontists in China is far from sufficient to meet the demands of the patient population. For instance, according to the certification results of the Orthodontics Professional Committee of the Chinese Stomatological Association, as of November 2021, only 6,041 orthodontists had been certified by the committee. Furthermore, clear aligner therapy differs from fixed appliance therapy in various aspects, including biomechanics, materials science, individual tooth movement, and patient compliance. Therefore, even professional orthodontists need to continuously update their theoretical knowledge when providing treatment with clear aligners.

Hou Yafei mentioned that, from the perspective of disciplinary distribution, pediatric dentistry and orthodontics are two relatively independent secondary disciplines. This has led toA phenomenon has emerged in the industry: pediatric dentists lack systematic training in orthodontics, while orthodontists lack a comprehensive understanding of the knowledge system of pediatric dentistry.. However, early intervention requires an organic integration of the knowledge systems of orthodontics and pediatric dentistry. Consequently, in past clinical practice, early intervention has fallen into an awkward situation of being “neglected by both sides.”

“Education and training for doctors has always been a key focus of Angelalign.” The Angelalign Medical Team regularly conducts internal training to study cutting-edge international theories in orthodontic treatment, continuously optimizing treatment protocols. Additionally, the company collaborates with leading domestic orthodontic experts to launch a series of orthodontic and early intervention training courses tailored for physicians engaged in early orthodontic practices, thereby meeting their demand for specialized knowledge in this field.

In addition to insufficient supply, dental-related insurance products in China have also fallen far short of fulfilling their intended role.

According to incomplete statistics from VCBeat, numerous insurance companies in China have launched dental insurance products, such as Taikang Dental’s “Haochi Baobei” released in August, Ping An Insurance’s “Chi Kang Bao,” Taikang Online’s “E-Chi Kang” and “Er Ya Bao,” and Chubb Insurance’s “Ai Ya Ya.” However, many existing dental insurance products remain at the level of collaboration between insurance companies and dental clinics, with a primary focus on customer acquisition. Moreover, consumers’ awareness of dental insurance is weak, and the penetration rate of related insurance products remains very low.

In recent years, the global economic outlook has been pessimistic, impacting many industries, including pediatric dentistry. Typical factors hindering the development of pediatric dentistry include the need to improve talent demand, talent development, and public awareness. However, these challenges are not unique to pediatric dentistry but are common pain points across medical specialties.

However, significant opportunities remain in the pediatric dental sector. From the perspective of the age-appropriate population, the service base of 250 million children and adolescents remains substantial. “The rate of dental treatment among children in China is very low. Among 5- and 12-year-olds with dental caries, only 4.1% and 16.5%, respectively, have received restorative (filling) treatment. This stands in stark contrast to the 80% dental visitation rate among children in the United States. The overall market still has at least tenfold room for growth,” said Taer Gai.

Digital Orthodontics and Pediatric Oral Care Emerge as Dark Horses

The pediatric dentistry sector encompasses a broad scope, including pediatric dental chains, R&D of early orthodontic devices, oral care, dental insurance, and dental data management.

Pediatric Dental Chains Expand from Tier-1 to Tier-2 Cities, with Demand Shifting from “Cavity-Free” to “Aesthetically Pleasing” Teeth

Compared with developed countries, China’s pediatric dental care market is still in its early stages of development. Domestic pediatric dental service providers comprise a mix of public and non-public hospital dental clinics, specialized children’s dental hospitals, pediatric dental chains, and independent dental clinics. Currently, the major pediatric dental chain brands in China include Orangedental (Jicheng Dental), Meivie Dental, Ruilei Dental, Qingmiao Dental, Sanye Children’s Dental, and Zhengfangxing Dental.

Children of all age groups experience varying degrees of “dental fear,” requiring dentists and nurses to devote considerable time and effort to emotional soothing and behavioral guidance during treatment. Consequently, pediatric dentistry increasingly emphasizes “de-medicalization,” “comfort-oriented care,” and “gamified” treatment approaches. This characteristic also means that pediatric dental services are highly dependent on human resources. ThereforePediatric dental institutions must prioritize customer service and the patient experience. By dissecting every stage of the patient journey—from initial visit to repeat business—and optimizing and enhancing service standards, staff training, service infrastructure, and service philosophy, these institutions can establish greater differentiation and competitive advantage.

Currently, the pediatric dental chain sector is in its early stages of development, with a pronounced trend toward regionalization. Market penetration in first- and second-tier cities is relatively rapid, yet the industry’s primary focus remains on market education.

Talgai stated that as awareness of oral health continues to grow, parents’ expectations for children’s dental care have shifted from mere treatment to comprehensive facial development management. Pediatric facial development management primarily utilizes occlusal guidance techniques to direct the natural and correct growth of children’s jaws and teeth, achieving a balanced relationship among teeth, jaws, and muscles. This approach enables timely intervention, interception, and prevention of malocclusions and jaw deformities in children, thereby modifying facial and lip contours and improving issues such as speech learning difficulties and articulation disorders. “Overall, Chinese parents remain quite anxious about their children’s appearance, and I believe this demand will continue to expand.”

Early prevention and intervention are key components of pediatric oral health management.

Hou Yafei stated that the process of children’s teeth transitioning from the primary dentition stage, through the mixed dentition stage, to the permanent dentition stage spans more than a decade. Unlike adults, whose oral morphology has already stabilized, children’s dental development is influenced by factors such as growth and development, dietary habits, and adverse oral habits. Therefore, when formulating early orthodontic treatment plans for children, clinicians must take into account multiple factors, including the maturity of the child’s teeth, jaws, muscles, nerves, and psychological development.Early orthodontic treatment must align with the patterns of dental growth and development in children, implementing pediatric orthodontics scientifically rather than simply adopting adult orthodontic products.Pediatric orthodontic appliances must account for the dynamic factor of growth and development, making their research, development, and application more complex. The shortage of clinicians with experience in early orthodontic treatment further increases the difficulty of diagnosis and management compared to other fields.

In the absence of specialized pediatric dentists, technological advancements have played a pivotal role. Leveraging comprehensive data acquisition and processing through CBCT, intraoral scanners, and digital orthodontic systems not only enables precise parameter control and treatment design but also facilitates intuitive communication between clinicians and patients, thereby delivering patient-centered care and ensuring more predictable orthodontic outcomes. It is foreseeable that in the pediatric orthodontics sector—characterized by rapid market growth yet high barriers to entry—possessing rich data resources will provide a competitive advantage in capturing this blue ocean market.

Hou Yafei stated candidly that early orthodontic intervention for children is still a relatively new product or medical service, with market education and public awareness campaigns on pediatric oral health still being vigorously promoted. Overall, practitioners in the pediatric early orthodontics industry are making substantial efforts to advance market education. The enthusiastic response from capital markets and the broader market to pediatric early orthodontics in recent years reflects the outcomes of these initial educational efforts. Driven by multiple factors, including rising economic standards, the “beauty economy,” and the evolving consumption concepts of the new generation of parents, the industry is poised for sustained development.

Currently, the domestic clear aligner market has formed a duopoly dominated by Angelalign and Invisalign, with these industry giants having long established their presence in the pediatric orthodontic market. From the perspective of market demand and the movements of industry leaders, the field of pediatric orthodontics is poised to enter a period of explosive growth. Currently, R&D brands specializing in pediatric orthodontic devices, represented by Angelalign, Smartee Denti-Technology, Romu Technology, and Bosimei, are ramping up their efforts.

Regarding the development trends in early orthodontic treatment for children, Hou Yafei introduced the concept of a “full-sequence” approach. A prominent feature and philosophy of iPrece’s EM3 full-sequence solution is the organic integration of multiple tools and technologies. Focusing on early intervention, iPrece aims to achieve an effective fusion between clear aligners and silicone appliances, allowing them to complement each other to form an optimal treatment plan. This approach provides patients with products that are more effective, comfortable, convenient, and cost-efficient.

Age-Specific Oral Care for Children: Safety Comes First

Since 2019, domestically produced oral care brands in China have experienced accelerated growth. However, while adult oral care has seen diversified development across categories such as toothpaste, toothbrushes, mouthwashes, oral sprays, and whitening strips, children’s oral care remains predominantly focused on toothpaste and toothbrushes. These products primarily offer anti-cavity and anti-sensitivity functions, aiming mainly to address dental caries in children.

In the toothpaste segment, both domestic and international brands such as Saky Kids, Colgate, Yunnan Baiyao, Lengsuanling Beilele, Nice Group’s Yayale, and Frog Prince have established their presence. Oral care brands like Ice Spring (Bingquan) and Canban have also launched related toothpaste products. Notably,As children's teeth are in a developmental stage with distinct characteristics at each phase, nearly all brands of pediatric oral care products adopt age-segmented care approaches. For children who are just starting to brush their teeth, provide food-grade, swallowable toothpaste; subsequently, help them develop a brushing habit by offering fruit- or candy-flavored toothpastes.

In the realm of toothbrushes, Panda Brushing, an oral health data technology company, employs technologies such as inertial navigation, motion-sensing data acquisition, and AI-based precise calculation to record users’ brushing processes. After accumulating a substantial amount of user brushing data, Panda Brushing provides regular follow-ups and targeted oral health guidance. Meanwhile, Chongqing-based smart toothbrush hardware company “Xrush” (Yashuabao) has developed a hardware device that can be attached to a standard toothbrush handle, converting it into a smart toothbrush.

Furthermore, pediatric mouthguards designed for traumatic dental injuries in children are also beginning to emerge.According to the “Analysis of Market Size and Penetration Rate Forecast for China’s Children’s Oral Care Industry in 2022” by AskCI Consulting, China’s children’s oral care market experienced steady growth from 2016 to 2020, with total retail sales increasing from RMB 2.9 billion in 2016 to RMB 4.8 billion in 2020, representing a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 13.4%. The penetration rate of basic children’s oral care products rose from 28.4% in 2016 to 36.1% in 2020, and is projected to further reach 38.7% in 2022.

Overall, the pediatric dentistry sector is in a phase of “accumulating strength for a breakthrough.” This suggests that the spark of the pediatric oral care industry is flickering and growing, driven jointly by industry giants and the broader sector.
