Finalist Projects Announced for the 2022 China Eye Valley Global Ophthalmic Innovation and Entrepreneurship Challenge

The 2022 International Summit on Technological Innovation and Industrial Development in Eye Health, concurrently held with the China Eye Valley Global Challenge for Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Optometry, was guided by the China Association for Science and Technology and the People’s Government of Zhejiang Province; hosted by the Zhejiang Association for Science and Technology and the People’s Government of Wenzhou Municipality; and jointly organized by the Wenzhou Association for Science and Technology, the Organization Department of the CPC Wenzhou Municipal Committee (Office of Talent Affairs of the Municipal Party Committee), the Wenzhou Municipal Science and Technology Bureau, the Wenzhou Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, the Communist Youth League Wenzhou Municipal Committee, Wenzhou Medical University, the People’s Government of Longwan District, Wenzhou, and the Administrative Committee of Wenzhou High-Tech Industrial Development Zone (Wenzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone), as well as the China Eye Valley Wenzhou International Innovation Center for Optometry.

 

SinceSince the competition was officially launched in September, it has lasted for two months and gathered participants from around the world. 168competition entries. After fierce competition in last week’s qualifying rounds, the final20 projects have stood out to advance to the Global Finals, where they will compete for the ultimate prize! They are:

According to project review experts:“The overall development status of a project is an important criterion in this evaluation. The innovativeness of the project, or more specifically, the core technological competitiveness, is key to its future growth. Multiple factors—including application scenarios, the completeness of the organizational structure of the operational team, and the quality of professional talent—carry significant weight in assessing the merit of a project.”

 

The projects advancing to the finals of this competition span fields such as ophthalmic materials, ophthalmic pharmaceuticals, smart healthcare, ophthalmic devices and equipment, big data platforms for ophthalmology, and digital therapeutics. This also demonstrates that high-caliber industrial projects derived from eye health are driving the high-quality development of the entire optometry and ophthalmology industry chain.

 

As a global competition soliciting projects in the field of eye health, the China Eye Valley Global Challenge on Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Optometry has identified elite makers and research leaders worldwide. It has further driven the development of the eye health industry, expanded global cooperation in this field, and continuously injected high-quality resources into China Eye Valley’s efforts to build a world-leading hub for technological innovation and talent in the eye health industry.

 

The 2022 International Summit on Technological Innovation and Industrial Development in Eye Health, together with the China Eye Valley Global Challenge for Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Optometry, will be officially held from November 11 to 12, 2022. Top-tier talents and high-quality projects from the global eye health sector will converge in Longwan, Wenzhou, staging exciting competitions at the Marriott Hotel in the Airport Area.
