On November 26, 2022, the Health Industry Development Research Center of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, in collaboration with Haodf Online, released the 2022 National Hospital Internet Influence Index, marking the seventh consecutive year of its publication.
Based on 16 years of real-world patient–physician behavioral data from the mainstream internet healthcare platform “Haodf Online,” the Health Industry Development Research Center of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences analyzed 65.77 billion patient browsing trajectories, internet healthcare service records for 80.83 million patients, 770 million patient–physician interactions, and 5.839 million online post-visit patient reviews. From this analysis, it derived a composite index reflecting patients’ choices between online and offline medical care across 36 specialty areas in 2022.
Research has found that the integration of healthcare institutions with the internet is continuously deepening. On one hand, public hospitals are leveraging internet platforms to extend diagnostic and treatment services throughout the entire patient care journey, ensuring that treatment is not interrupted by changes in time or space, thereby enhancing service depth and patient satisfaction. On the other hand, the internet is playing an increasingly important role in expanding access to high-quality medical resources and promoting balanced regional development.
This study was designed by the research team for the “Study on Internet Influence of Hospitals Nationwide,” with Chen Qiulin serving as the team leader.
