Cough, runny nose, fever, and muscle aches: Is it a cold or COVID-19? What should follow-up patients and those with chronic diseases do if they need prescriptions but find it inconvenient to go out? How can negative emotions such as anxiety, unease, and panic be alleviated? With the adjustment of epidemic prevention and control policies, many citizens are worried about contracting novel coronavirus pneumonia, yet fear cross-infection when visiting hospitals.

To this end, the Guangzhou Municipal People’s Government has launched a comprehensive service platform to facilitate medical consultations and medication access for residents at home—the “Guangzhou Internet Hospital Guidance Platform” (hereinafter referred to as the “Guidance Platform”). Through the internet hospitals integrated into the Guidance Platform, patients can consult physicians online and undergo follow-up visits without leaving their homes. Some internet hospitals also offer online prescription services with home delivery for patients with chronic diseases requiring follow-up care. Additionally, for individuals self-isolating at home, physicians from these internet hospitals provide personalized diagnostic and treatment recommendations based on the symptoms described by the patients. In the case of febrile patients, physicians will conduct preliminary assessments of potential causes of fever through online consultations and simultaneously guide residents on proper protective measures, isolation monitoring, and correct disinfection practices.

Guangzhou residents can enter the URL:https://juhe.dyhhospital.cn/Alternatively, scan the QR code in the image below to access the platform. Users can quickly select a physician based on their current symptoms and proceed to an online consultation through the physician’s affiliated internet hospital. They may also click “Find a Hospital,” which allows redirection to a mini-program for hospital selection. Additionally, users can leverage the intelligent triage system to rapidly match with physicians in the appropriate specialty based on symptoms by body region for online consultations. In response to symptoms associated with Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia (NCP), suspected cases can be expedited to specialists in pulmonology for online consultations. The platform also offers considerate psychological counseling services, connecting users with psychiatrists for online consultations.

It is reported that the navigation platform was developed by Guangzhou Yuankangjian Information Technology Co., Ltd. In response to the requirement of “establishing a unified entry point for internet hospitals in the Guangzhou area that is ‘easy to understand at a glance and easy to use with a single click,’” the company actively responded, addressing public concerns and meeting public needs. It rapidly mobilized its core R&D team, completing the platform’s development and launching its services within just two days. This achievement has been recognized by the Guangzhou Municipal People’s Government, relevant departments, and experts.
