bioMérieux and Aconno Enter Strategic Partnership to Advance Molecular Diagnostics in China

In December 2022, bioMérieux (hereinafter referred to as “bioMérieux”) and Jiaxing Accunome BIOTECHNOLOGY Company Limited (hereinafter referred to as “Accunome”) finalized a strategic investment agreement and simultaneously signed an exclusive distribution agreement. Following the completion of the transaction, bioMérieux will engage in deep collaboration with Accunome to accelerate the development of bioMérieux’s molecular diagnostics business in China.

Mérieux has long been committed to providing advanced diagnostic solutions for patients in China, particularly in the field of infectious disease diagnostics. In recent years, infectious diseases have garnered significant attention from both healthcare providers and patients. Advanced biological diagnostic products can greatly enhance the speed and quality of diagnosis, facilitating early identification, control, and treatment of infectious diseases, thereby safeguarding public health.

Accunome, founded in 2018, is a high-tech enterprise driven by technological innovation. It has established R&D, GMP manufacturing, sales, and service centers in Jiaxing (Zhejiang), Shanghai, and San Diego (USA), dedicated to providing fully automated molecular diagnostic solutions for infectious diseases and critical care conditions. The company’s first-generation molecular diagnostic platform, DXcellence12, integrates nucleic acid extraction, amplification, and detection into a single system. As a fully automated, general-purpose molecular diagnostic instrument, DXcellence12 enables direct loading of primary sample tubes, with all operational steps (including sample addition) performed automatically by the instrument. The product obtained Class III registration certification from China’s National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) and CE certification from the European Union in 2022.

Previously, Accunome received multiple rounds of investment from well-known domestic investment institutions, including Sinovation Ventures, China Merchants Health, Chende Capital, ZhenFund, Enran Venture Capital, and Nanchuang Capital. Following this round of financing, Accunome will continue to deepen its presence in the molecular diagnostics industry, develop more innovative solutions, and address unmet clinical needs.

Through this strategic partnership, bioMérieux will leverage Accunome’s DXcellence12 molecular diagnostics platform and its future related kits to expand and develop its molecular diagnostics business in China; meanwhile, Accunome will be able to promote its products by utilizing bioMérieux’s established commercial channels in China.
