On February 23, China’s first digital and intelligent dental healthcare platform, “FRIDAY,” was officially launched at the South China International Dental Exhibition, offering one-stop solutions covering the entire lifecycle of dental clinics for entrepreneurial dentists. The physician-oriented “FRIDAY Knowledge Base” mini-program was simultaneously introduced, aggregating high-quality resources from Arrail Academy, including insights from over 100 industry experts, more than 1,000 hours of premium courses, and in-depth discussions on complex cases, to comprehensively empower dentists in enhancing their professional capabilities.

On the same day, FRIDAY’s AI-driven dental healthcare platform entered into a strategic partnership with Henry Schein China and 3M China to establish the Digital Intelligence Dental Alliance. The alliance aims to promote the decentralization of medical technologies, standardization of service processes, and scientific management decision-making, thereby facilitating the digital transformation and upgrading of the dental healthcare industry and achieving high-quality development.

Upholding the Essence of Healthcare: Building a Knowledge Base for Dental Specialists

Oral healthcare services are highly dependent on dentists. Currently, the shortage of specialized dental professionals in China has become one of the “bottleneck” factors constraining industry development. Data shows that there are 175 dentists per million people in China, far behind the 600 to 800 dentists per million people in developed countries in Europe and America.

“Talent development and training are inseparable from digital technological support. As important trends in the industry, health education and health management also require digitalization. Therefore, one of the key tasks for the Association’s future work is to promote the practical implementation of digital initiatives,” said Ou Yao, President of the Guangdong Private Dental Association. He noted that Guangdong is a major province for oral healthcare services, with numerous private dental institutions, giving it distinct advantages in developing intelligent digital dentistry. He expressed hope that, by leveraging Arrail Group’s accumulated expertise in this area, these initiatives can be effectively implemented.

The effective utilization of digital technology can help the dental industry address the “talent bottleneck.” As a leading large-scale premium dental chain in China, Arrail Group embarked on its digital transformation as early as 2004, developing a mechanism for enhancing dentists’ capabilities that leverages digital technologies, facilitates efficient communication, and continuously improves clinical standards, thereby building an outstanding team of dentists and management professionals. It is reported that Arrail Group employs over 2,000 professional medical staff nationwide, including more than 70 experts with senior or associate senior professional titles, over 100 medical specialists with ten or more years of tenure at the company, and more than 300 experts holding master’s, doctoral, or postdoctoral degrees.

“As this platform and its exchange mechanism become increasingly mature, we aim to open it to all professionals in the industry,” stated Zhang Jincai, Chief Medical Officer of Arrail Group. “The professional knowledge and clinical experience of individual dentists in single practices are limited; they cannot rely solely on their personal expertise to manage every patient effectively. Returning to the fundamentals of medicine, elevating the clinical competence of primary-care dentists to a consistent standard, and providing a safety net for medical quality management—these are among the key objectives behind our development of the FRIDAY Digital Intelligence Stomatological Healthcare Platform.”

It is reported that the “FRIDAY Knowledge Base,” a physician platform launched on its debut day, serves as an intellectual hub for dentists. On one hand, it brings together more than 100 industry experts from Arrail Academy across China to conduct weekly discussions on complex cases and provide targeted one-on-one professional assistance. On the other hand, the platform curates Arrail Group’s multidisciplinary repository of premium case studies and over 1,000 hours of high-quality courses, functioning as a comprehensive knowledge base that enables dentists to engage in online and offline learning at their convenience, thereby comprehensively enhancing both individual clinical competence and the overall medical standards of their practices.

Beyond enhancing clinical capabilities, the FRIDAY Digital Intelligence Dental Care Platform leverages over two decades of successful experience from Arrail Group to distill a one-stop solution for the full lifecycle of dental institutions. This comprehensive approach covers all stages, including initial setup and construction, patient acquisition and traffic generation, clinical quality improvement, operational management, and cash flow optimization.

“We hope to leverage the FRIDAY Digital Intelligence Dental Care Platform to truly achieve resource sharing and co-create value, share our know-how and expertise with more dentists, and build an ecosystem platform for collaborative learning and mutual progress. This will help dentists enhance their clinical practice, accelerate their professional growth, and ultimately enable more Chinese people to smile with confidence,” said Zou Qifang, Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Arrail Group.

Building an Entrepreneurial Assistant for Dentists: Full-Lifecycle Digital and Intelligent Empowerment

Currently, China’s dental care market exhibits a long-tail distribution. Nationwide dental healthcare groups, including Arrail Group, account for only about 5% of the market share. The majority of the market is dominated by small and medium-sized dental institutions situated in the long tail, numbering over 80,000, most of which were founded by dentists as entrepreneurs. Due to the widespread lack of systematic management capabilities in standalone clinics and the uneven quality of service levels, most entrepreneur dentists are plagued by the dilemma of “easy survival, difficult growth.”

Leveraging digital technologies and platforms can effectively help dental healthcare institutions break through development “bottlenecks.” “As a leading large-scale premium dental chain in China, Arrail Group possesses unique advantages in medical technology, customer service, and operational management, and has long garnered attention and recognition within the industry,” said Zou Jin, Chairman of the FRIDAY Digital Intelligence Dental Healthcare Platform. He explained that FRIDAY is built upon Arrail Group’s validated and replicable success accumulated over more than two decades. By harnessing the strengths of its digital intelligence platform in connectivity, empowerment, and innovation, FRIDAY connects high-quality leading enterprises across the upstream and downstream industrial chains, providing one-stop solutions for dental healthcare institutions and entrepreneurial dentists that cover the entire lifecycle of clinic management.

Addressing the industry’s keen focus on service quality, FRIDAY has developed a dedicated SaaS system for dental institution management. The system features comprehensive functionalities, including appointment scheduling, service delivery, operations management, digital healthcare platforms, inventory and supply chain management, and business intelligence (BI) data analytics. It enables standardized processing across 448 treatment stages and over 2,000 procedures. By integrating Arrail Group’s “ArrailCare 5A” service framework, the system draws on best practices for user experience at five key touchpoints: pre-visit, initial contact, consultation, post-visit, and follow-up. With more than 1,300 built-in service task nodes and corresponding scripts, the AI-driven system automatically categorizes tasks based on patient profiles and treatment complexity, assigning them to appropriate medical and service staff. This helps institutions build professional clinical teams, enhance operational efficiency, deliver superior diagnostic and treatment experiences, and comprehensively elevate clinic service standards.

The establishment of the Digital Intelligence Dental Alliance will also help entrepreneurial dentists achieve lean management. It is reported that FRIDAY has entered into strategic partnerships with Henry Schein China and 3M China to leverage economies of scale and pursue diverse digital collaborations. These initiatives aim to provide FRIDAY’s institutional members with high-quality upstream products and access to group purchasing discounts offered by the alliance.

Furthermore, the FRIDAY Smart Warehouse showcased at the South China International Dental Exhibition is an integrated solution combining the hardware and software of “Smart Cabinets” and an “Intelligent Storage System.” By tracking material demand and usage through the system, it promptly synchronizes information with managers and enables AI-driven ordering, thereby creating an automated closed loop for compliance management, cost accounting, and procurement management, ultimately liberating the productivity of clinic staff.

“Although there are more than 100,000 dental medical institutions across China, the overall strength of dental healthcare remains relatively weak compared to other industries. For instance, while there is a large number of private dental clinics, the overall quality and level of care vary significantly,” stated Chen Xuefeng, Executive Director of the Chinese Stomatological Association and Designated Chairman of its Private Dental Practice Branch, at the launch ceremony. He noted that the emergence of the FRIDAY Digital Intelligence Dental Healthcare Platform serves as a valuable asset to the entire field of dentistry, expressing hope that all industry practitioners will work together to further advance the digitalization of dental care and the broader discipline of stomatology.

Zhang Jincai stated that the oral healthcare industry is a vital sector concerning public health and quality of life. In the future, the FRIDAY Digital Intelligence Oral Healthcare Platform will continue to innovate and upgrade, providing high-quality, intelligent solutions to address the various pain points and challenges faced by entrepreneurial dentists in the full lifecycle management of their clinics. By opening up, replicating, and empowering the entire industry with Arrail’s successful experience, we will jointly promote the digital transformation of the oral healthcare sector and deliver more high-quality oral healthcare services to the Chinese population.
