Over 60,000 Attend CHINC 2022: Three Key Trends Emerge in Healthcare Informatization
“It felt as if everyone in the healthcare IT industry had shown up.” The sheer volume of attendees gave one audience member this impression.
Let the data speak. At the “China Medical Information Technology Exhibition” and the “China International Medical Building, Equipment and Technology Exchange Exhibition” alone, more than 300 exhibiting companies showcased the latest healthcare IT products—including medical robots, AI-driven therapeutic products, and next-generation smart operating rooms—as well as hospital construction and equipment solutions, attracting over 60,000 attendees on site.
Since its inception in 1995, the CHINC conference has continuously expanded in scale and elevated its academic standards, establishing itself as the premier academic event in China’s healthcare informatics sector.
February 24–26, 2023, the “2022 Chinese Hospital Information Network Conference (CHINC) and China Medical Information Technology Exhibition,” hosted by the Hospital Management Institute of the National Health Commission and organized by China Digital Medicine Magazine Co., Ltd., was held in Shenzhen.
The conference, themed “Digital Intelligence Empowerment: Facilitating High-Quality Hospital Development,” focuses onHospital Informatization Planning and Construction, Information Technology Development for High-Quality Healthcare, and Application of Health and Medical Big Data and Emerging TechnologiesThree Perspectives: Sharing New Technologies and Achievements in the Research and Application of Intelligent Healthcare
The conference invited authoritative academicians, experts, and leaders from the industry to provide policy interpretations and engage in academic exchanges, focusing on hospital information technology infrastructure development and centering onIntegration and Application of Medical Services and Public Health InformaticsDiscussionApplications of IoT, Wearable Devices, Artificial Intelligence, and 5G TechnologiesA total of 49 sub-forums were established.

Following preliminary qualification screening and two rounds of expert review, 15 individuals were selected as “Outstanding Leaders in Hospital Informatics for 2021,” and 15 individuals were recognized as “Outstanding Innovators in Hospital Informatics for 2021.” The “2022 China Hospital Information Network Conference Call for Papers” selected 8 outstanding papers, 6 outstanding organizing groups, and 8 outstanding organizing institutions.

Foreign Member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, Vice Chancellor of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, and Dean of the Shenzhen Research Institute of Big DataLuo ZhiquanThe title of the speech was “Digital Innovation in Healthcare.” In his report, Academician Luo elaborated in detail on current research hotspots and the latest scientific advancements in digital health, highlighting four major challenges facing its development.
Leaders from the Department of System Reform, the Department of Medical Administration, and the Department of Planning, Development and Informatization of the National Health Commission delivered thematic speeches at the keynote forum.

From the afternoon of February 25 to the morning of February 26, the conference organizers, in collaboration with the Medical Consortium Working Committee of the Chinese Hospital Association, jointly hosted the High-Level Forum on Informatics Construction for the High-Quality Development of Public Hospitals.
