Personal Profile

Head of Digital Health Technology at Alibaba Cloud, overseeing R&D in digital health and life sciences; joined Alibaba Cloud Intelligence in September 2021. At Alibaba Cloud Intelligence, he led the development of a population health information platform for a sub-provincial city, provincial-level medical insurance and health cloud initiatives, as well as Alibaba Cloud’s bioinformatics high-performance computing platform. Prior to joining Alibaba, he served as Director of AI for Health at Microsoft, Senior Director of Data Science at Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) in the United States, and Senior Data Modeler at NORC at the University of Chicago. He has spearheaded or supported healthcare projects for clients including the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the World Health Organization (WHO), Novartis, Washington University School of Medicine, IHMO, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, Seattle Children’s Hospital, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. He has published over 30 academic papers in Chinese and international journals and led his team to win first place in the 2016 Healthcare Big Data Modeling Competition hosted by Academy Health.
