Recently,"Research on Large-Scale Autonomous and Controllable Cloud-Edge-End Collaborative Systems for Auditory and Visual Cognitive Patterns," a key national R&D project undertaken by CEC CLOUD BRAIN (Tianjin) Technology Co., Ltd. — a "national team" in brain-computer interfaces and a start-up enterprise initiated by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council — has successfully passed the acceptance review after rigorous evaluation.

The project focuses on the urgent needs of high real-time performance, high safety and reliability, hierarchical deployment, and autonomous controllability in medical scenarios (such as ADHD diagnosis in children and autism screening) and special scenarios (such as sonar recognition and remote sensing image understanding). It addresses key aspects including multi-modal neurophysiological data access, management, analysis, deployment, and collaborative operation. An autonomous and controllable cloud-edge-end collaboration system has been built, covering the collection end, edge computing platform, and cloud platform application systems.Provided systematic support for the engineering implementation of related technologies.

Why is it the "National Team"?

Many people may ask, why is CEC CLOUD BRAIN regarded as the "national team" in the brain-computer interface field? First, established in 2018, CEC CLOUD BRAIN is the first brain-computer interface enterprise in China controlled by a central state-owned enterprise, under the China Electronics Corporation, with strong central enterprise background and resource advantages. Second, it is not only the core cooperative enterprise of the Haihe Laboratory of Brain-Computer Interaction and Human-Machine Symbiosis, but also a key supported start-up enterprise by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) of the State Council, specifically undertaking major national scientific research tasks such as the National Key R&D Program. It shoulders the national mission of promoting the independent control of brain-computer interface technology in China, breaking foreign technological monopolies, and leading high-quality industrial development, truly living up to the title of the "national team."

Three Major Highlights

The successfully accepted results of this project focus on the urgent needs of auditory and visual cognition in two core scenarios—diagnosis of ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) in children and autism screening in medical settings, as well as sonar recognition and remote sensing image understanding in special scenarios. These address the core requirements of high real-time performance, high safety and reliability, scalable deployment, and autonomous controllability in these scenarios. The outcomes have several highlights.

Highlight 1: Unify data standards, break through multi-modal data barriers

For multi-source heterogeneous perceptual data such as auditory, visual, and neuro-electrophysiological,CEC CLOUD BRAINA unified technical system for data access, transmission, and storage standards has been established, effectively addressing issues such as non-unified interfaces, incompatible formats, and difficulties in interoperability for multi-modal audio-visual data in cloud-edge-end environments.

Highlight Two: Three-level Collaborative Architecture, Enabling Flexible Deployment and Self-adaptation of Models

In response to the pain points of traditional audio-visual cognitive models, which are centrally deployed in the cloud or run at a single local point, making it difficult to balance real-time performance with flexibility, CEC CLOUD BRAIN has proposedCloud-Edge-End Three-Level Model Collaborative Computing for Audio-Visual ApplicationsFrameworkSupports collaborative inference, collaborative training, and dynamic deployment of models across cloud, edge, and end devices. Significantly enhances the performance of audio-visual cognitive systems in complex application scenarios.Accuracy, Stability, and Robustness

Highlight Three: Dynamic Collaboration Management, Integrating Data, Computing Power, and Model Elements

Based on a dynamic cloud-edge-end collaborative management mechanism, CEC CLOUD BRAIN has achieved the integration of the three core elements—data, computing power, and models—at the overall system level. It has established a unified collaboration and management system for brain electro-audio-visual cognitive applications. This system realizes dynamic collaborative optimization and adaptive operation of multi-layer cloud-edge-end resources, effectively improving resource utilization efficiency while ensuring data security and system real-time performance.

In addition to the three core highlights mentioned above, this achievement also has three prominent advantages: First, full independent control. It strategically plans key aspects such as data collection, transmission, storage, computation, deployment, and management, with all core technologies being self-developed in China, breaking the reliance on foreign technology and ensuring technical security. Second, flexible architecture combinations. The system can support both "edge-cloud" and "end-edge-cloud" modes, enabling flexible deployment according to the actual needs of different scenarios such as healthcare and special operations, demonstrating extremely strong adaptability. Third, it features a model marketplace function. Through the model management platform, models can be uploaded, downloaded, managed, and shared. Relying on the cloud as the core for model research, publishing, and scheduling, it can distribute models to terminals on demand, achieving flexible allocation and efficient reuse of model capabilities, significantly reducing the cost of technology implementation.

Continuous Effort

Notably, CEC CLOUD BRAIN continues to make efforts in the application of brain-computer technology. In August 2025, the company officially released its self-developed innovative product — a non-invasive brain-computer intelligent headband based on a fully China-produced and autonomously controllable core.It is the first to feature a fully autonomous chip base, equipped with the self-developed "Brain Talker" series of chips. Using advanced self-developed artificial intelligence algorithms, it simultaneously captures signals from multiple brain regions such as the frontal, temporal, and occipital lobes, achieving multi-brain region collaborative perception. It also adopts gel-free dry electrodes to address the user experience pain points of consumer-grade EEG devices, significantly improving wear comfort. Additionally, the product's local intelligent hub builds an ultra-low power AI model based on self-developed encoding and decoding algorithms, capable of real-time analysis of multidimensional brain states such as fatigue, focus, calmness, and stress within 50 milliseconds, achieving 100% local closed-loop data processing.

This brain-computer intelligent headband integrates complex brain science knowledge into daily life in an intuitive and user-friendly way, providing users with unprecedented tools for self-awareness and state management. It has been successfully applied in core scenarios such as fatigue driving warning, focus training, meditation relaxation, and stress relief. Whether ensuring life safety, improving work and study efficiency, or pursuing inner peace and alleviating stress, it can become a capable assistant for users to explore their physical and mental potential and pursue a wise and healthy lifestyle.

It is worth mentioning that the release of the portable brain-computer intelligent headband marks the official commissioning of CEC CLOUD BRAIN's "End-Edge-Cloud" integrated brain-computer intelligence platform. This complements the newly accepted Cloud-Edge-End collaboration system, creating synergy. In the future, the company will continue to advance the development of the brain-computer industry in terms of scenario generalization empowerment, ecosystem openness and integration, and technological evolution, further consolidating China’s self-reliance and controllable advantages in the field of brain-computer interfaces.
