Building a Multi-Dimensional Core Team to Explore Innovative Pathways for Technology Translation

Reflecting on ACCURATE BIOTECHNOLOGY’s development in the organoid sector, Dr. Huang Min stated, “It has been an arduous journey to achieve effective commercial implementation from technology to systems and products. By building a multidimensional team and focusing on the research and development of core technological systems, ACCURATE BIOTECHNOLOGY has completed the entire process from science to technology, then to industrialization, and finally to commercialization.”

As CEO, Dr. Huang Min brings extensive industry experience and a unique, profound understanding of the biopharmaceutical sector. She has previously held positions at international pharmaceutical companies such as Boehringer Ingelheim (Germany) and Pharmacia. Since 2004, she has served as Vice President of Rundu Group, where she successfully spearheaded the company’s initial public offering (IPO).Dr. Huang Min pointed out that with the vigorous development of China's biopharmaceutical industry, technological innovation in this field is gradually aligning with global standards. Business managers need to actively pursue innovations in technology, business models, and corporate management to meet the growing demand for more precise and personalized medical services.

Professor Zhu Yu, another partner and Vice President of R&D at ACCURATE BIOTECHNOLOGY, holds a Ph.D. from the Karolinska Institutet in Sweden. He has conducted research in tumor immunology at the University of Pennsylvania, the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), and the University of Alberta. Previously serving as a Senior Scientist at GSK, he has amassed extensive experience in basic research and drug development.

In the field of organoids, Dr. Zhu Yu has been conducting research on their applications in basic and clinical medicine since 2012. By integrating advanced biological techniques with drug sensitivity testing, he explores the pathogenesis and drug resistance mechanisms of cancer, expands genomics research based on personalized therapy, and designs and tests precise cancer treatment regimens. He is one of the pioneers in the theoretical and practical research underlying the application of organoids to precision oncology in clinical practice.

In early 2019, this top scholar, who had made significant contributions to the field of organoids, joined ACCURATE BIOTECHNOLOGY, a commercial entity focused on the translation of organoid technologies, founded by a business leader with strategic thinking and practical experience. After four years of continuous R&D and strategic layout, ACCURATE BIOTECHNOLOGY has pioneered an innovative pathway for translating core organoid technologies into commercial applications.

Building Personalized Oncology Medical Services and Constructing an Industry-Medicine Collaborative Organoid Ecosystem

In the interview, Dr. Huang Min mentioned that ACCURATE BIOTECHNOLOGY has been deeply engaged in application scenarios for personalized precision medicine, committed to building a collaborative ecosystem between industry and healthcare. By establishing deep strategic partnerships with hospitals and conducting long-term follow-up studies on large clinical cohorts, the company continuously optimizes and validates the stability and accuracy of its products. Meanwhile, it has accumulated substantial data, forming a high-quality, diverse data evaluation system. “We leverage large-sample precise screening of marketed drugs, providing a solid foundation and robust support for the development of drug R&D platforms,” he stated.

In terms of personalized testing, ACCURATE BIOTECHNOLOGY’s personalized oncology medical services primarily encompass three processes: in vitro organoid modeling, anti-tumor drug sensitivity testing, and big data analysis reporting. The entire process takes an average of only 14 days, enabling precise detection. The positive predictive value for drug sensitivity exceeds 85%, while the negative predictive value ranges from approximately 95% to 100%. ACCURATE BIOTECHNOLOGY collaborated with the team at Guangdong Provincial People’s Hospital to conduct the largest real-world study internationally in the field of lung cancer organoids for predicting the efficacy of targeted therapy and chemotherapy. Over a three-year period, the project demonstrated that organoid-based drug sensitivity testing is an effective predictive tool for precision medicine in advanced lung cancer, helping patients receive more efficient and precise treatments and improving survival outcomes. Furthermore, it holds significant potential for elucidating drug mechanisms of action. These research findings were published in a Cell subsidiary journal. Additionally, ACCURATE BIOTECHNOLOGY has partnered with core tertiary Grade A hospitals in Beijing, Guangzhou, and other regions. Fifteen related articles have been published in top-tier international journals. Large-scale clinical cohort studies on the concordance between organoid drug sensitivity testing and clinical efficacy across various cancer types—including colorectal, breast, gastric, nasopharyngeal, and pancreatic cancers—have shown that organoid-based drug sensitivity testing can reflect in vivo drug responses in patients, with a concordance rate exceeding 85%. This underscores the application value of organoid drug sensitivity testing in precision oncology.

Discussing the significance of building diverse organoid models for new drug development, Professor Zhu Yu commented, “Establishing disease models with high clinical relevance is one of the key factors in improving the success rate of new drug development and represents an important research direction for in vitro models. Only disease models that more closely resemble the human body can achieve critical breakthroughs in target discovery and drug development.”

ACCURATE BIOTECHNOLOGY provides a variety of models for new drug development, including patient-derived organoids (PDOs), organoid immune microenvironments, and organoid mutants. Additionally, the company has developed a multidimensional drug evaluation system and a standardized quality control system.Leveraging its platform capabilities, the company has launched new drug R&D services in the areas of target validation, high-throughput screening of active molecules, and efficacy and safety evaluation. It has also entered into strategic cooperation agreements with internationally renowned pharmaceutical companies to facilitate new drug development, expand drug indications, improve the success rate of clinical trials, and reduce both the time and financial costs of drug development, thereby accelerating the overall new drug R&D process.

Currently, ACCURATE BIOTECHNOLOGY has conducted in-depth research and established intellectual property layouts in three areas: organoid modeling, drug sensitivity testing, and intelligent automation. Its total number of patents accounts for 5% of the global organoid field, and it has published the world’s first AI-oriented dataset, achieving breakthrough progress in AI research and development.

Personalized Drug Susceptibility Testing + New Drug R&D PlatformACCURATE BIOTECHNOLOGY’s dual-circulation business layout has earned it widespread recognition.
