Agilis Robotics Files IPO Prospectus for World's Smallest Fully Flexible Endoscopic Surgical Robot

Mar 23, 2023 08:00 CST Updated 08:00

The global market size for robot-assisted natural orifice surgery is growing rapidly, with an estimated value of USD 1.79 billion by 2026. In China, the field of natural orifice surgical robotics is still in its early stages; although no surgical robots have yet received regulatory approval for market launch, the sector is developing swiftly and is projected to reach USD 840 million by 2026.This will be a new track with high-speed growth.

Endoscopic surgical robots can assist surgeons in performing complex procedures, effectively addressing various challenges associated with traditional surgery. Recently, the prototype of an endoscopic surgical robot independently developed by Qiaojie Li Medical Robotics was deployed at The University of Hong Kong-Shenzhen HospitalThe completion of the first test in mainland China marks the commercialization of the world’s smallest fully flexible endoscopic surgical robot, enabling it to stand out in the field of endoscopic surgical robotics.

Artery Select New Product Review, Issue 3: Inviting Dr. Fan Jingwen, Assistant Dean and Director of the Endoscopy Center at The University of Hong Kong-Shenzhen Hospital; Dr. Guo Jiawei, Co-founder of Chokle Medical Robotics; and Mr. Xu Jiaming, Chief Financial Officer of Chokle, to present an in-depth analysis of Chokle’s endoscopic surgical robot.

Product Overview

The endoscopic surgical robot system developed by Qiaojie Li consists of three components: the main console, flexible surgical robotic arms, and the control system. This endoscopic surgical robot is suitable for various natural orifice surgeries, offering broad application prospects. Compared with traditional minimally invasive endoscopic surgery, robot-assisted surgery significantly improves surgical precision, safety, flexibility, and tremor filtration, enabling physicians to repeatedly perform complex procedures using a minimally invasive approach.

Technical Features

The core technological barriers associated with the Qiaojie Li endoscopic surgical robot are exceptionally high. Its surgical instruments overcome the motion limitations inherent in da Vinci-style laparoscopic surgical robots, which stem from their rigid joint structures. Furthermore, by strictly controlling tool dimensions, the system achieves a balance between strength and dexterity within the narrow, tortuous natural lumens of the human body, thereby enabling the smooth execution of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as biopsy and resection. Equipped with flexible robotic arms, this endoscopic surgical robot can operate adeptly within confined anatomical spaces. Its flexible design allows for gentler contact with human tissues, thereby enhancing overall procedural safety.

Product Advantages

Compared with other similar products, the Qiaojie Li endoscopic surgical robot features the world’s smallest fully flexible arm, with a diameter of only 2.5 mm, and offers high degrees of freedom, enabling compatibility and integration with any conventional endoscope. The system also incorporates artificial intelligence (AI) and augmented reality (AR) technologies to enhance overall robotic performance. Furthermore, its flexible robotic arm is detachable and can be equipped with various surgical instruments, allowing for multiple dexterous maneuvers in confined spaces.

To provide a more comprehensive understanding, Qiaojie Li Medical Robotics’ independently developed product—the world’s smallest fully flexible endoscopic surgical robot—will make its debut at the VCBeat Select New Product Launch on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, from 19:30 to 20:30.This event also featured Dr. Fan Jingwen, Assistant President of The University of Hong Kong-Shenzhen Hospital and Director of the Endoscopy Center; Dr. Guo Jiawei, Co-founder of Chokeli Medical Robotics; and Mr. Xu Jiaming, Chief Financial Officer of Chokeli, who jointly launched the product, shared insights into its development journey, and highlighted its key features.
