According to Jiangxi Daily, on April 6, Ye Jianchun, Governor of Jiangxi Province, met in Nanchang with Liao Jieyuan, Chairman of WeDoctor Group, and Gong Hongjia, Chairman of Jiadao Capital, along with their delegation.

Ye Jianchun, on behalf of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People’s Government, welcomed Liao Jieyuan, Gong Hongjia, and their delegation to Jiangxi for inspection, research, and discussions on cooperation. He briefly introduced Jiangxi’s strategic approaches and achievements in promoting the development of the digital economy and the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) industry. He noted that WeDoctor Group is a pioneer in the digital healthcare sector, while Jiadao Capital is a renowned investment firm; both enterprises wield significant influence within their respective industries. Currently, Jiangxi is vigorously advancing industrial digitalization and the digitalization of industries with a determined effort, striving to establish itself as a new highland for digital economy development nationwide. Meanwhile, bearing the contemporary responsibility of inheriting the glorious history of TCM and seizing the opportunity presented by the establishment of the National Comprehensive Reform Demonstration Zone for Traditional Chinese Medicine, Jiangxi is aggressively promoting the inheritance, innovation, and development of TCM to accelerate its build-up into a leading province in this field. The integration of the digital economy with the TCM industry offers broad prospects and substantial potential for achievement.

Liao Jieyuan and Gong Hongjia stated that Jiangxi is a major province for both traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) culture and TCM herbal resources. WeDoctor Group and Jiadao Capital will leverage Jiangxi’s endowments in TCM resources, driven by model innovation and digital technologies. They will focus on building operational platforms and co-establishing industrial funds, while deepening cooperation in areas such as TCM herb cultivation, TCM medical consortia, and digital trading. These efforts aim to foster the clustering of the digital TCM industry in Jiangxi and contribute to the transformation and upgrading of the province’s TCM sector.

At the signing ceremony for cooperation on the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Industry Fund held on the same day, the Ganjiang New Area Administrative Committee, WeDoctor, and Jiadao Capital signed a strategic cooperation agreement to jointly establish the “TCM Industry Integration Fund” (hereinafter referred to as the “Industry Fund”). By adopting the approach of “driving investment promotion through investment and leveraging resources through investment linkage,” the parties aim to promote the clustering of the digital TCM industry in the China (Nanchang) TCM Science and Technology Innovation City within the Ganjiang New Area.

Under the agreement, the industrial fund will establish a digital innovation project for traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), featuring an integrated framework with TCM (herbal) trading as the core (“one body”), and supported by two pillars: origin warehouses for authentic medicinal herbs and TCM medical consortia. This “one body, two wings” innovation model will integrate upstream planting bases and production area resources to enable direct supply of authentic medicinal herbs and refined decoction pieces. Downstream, it will leverage TCM medical consortia to promote the large-scale production and application of TCM series products and in-house hospital preparations, thereby driving the high-quality development of Jiangxi’s TCM sector and industry.

At the cultivation stage, the innovative project will draw on the technological and standardized planting experience of “Chuan Maidong” (Ophiopogon japonicus from Sichuan) by WeDoctor’s Bianque Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Health Industry Group, leverage Jiangxi’s endowments in TCM resources, establish a batch of large-scale bases for authentic medicinal herbs (origin warehouses), and define grading standards for medicinal materials and decoction pieces. At the service stage, the project will build a digital inheritance system for TCM and specialized disease and specialty disciplines, focusing on in-house hospital preparations, proprietary Chinese medicines, classical formula granules, and food-medicine homology products. It will promote the aggregation of experienced prescriptions from renowned senior TCM practitioners nationwide into the Science and Innovation City, and establish unified standards for classical formula granules (compound formulations) through the Bianque Classical Formula Granule Research Center. At the digital trading stage, leveraging a mature digital trading system for Chinese medicinal materials, the project will adopt a “cloud warehousing and cloud distribution” model to enhance the agglomeration effect of Chinese medicinal material trading in Jiangxi.

Furthermore, as a key component of the “One Body, Two Wings” strategy, innovative projects will draw on the national model for establishing close-knit medical consortia to build in Jiangxi Province a Digital Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Medical Consortium led by digital hospitals and jointly formed with primary healthcare institutions across the province. This initiative will implement standardized TCM diagnosis and treatment, centralized supply assurance for TCM decoction pieces, and cross-regional health insurance settlement on a city-by-city and disease-specific basis. By disseminating the syndrome differentiation and treatment expertise of renowned senior TCM practitioners to primary healthcare institutions throughout the province, it aims to establish Jiangxi as a demonstration province for enhancing grassroots healthcare capabilities through digital TCM.

At the signing ceremony, all parties announced that they would actively prepare for the World Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Industry Conference. The event aims to gather experts, scholars, entrepreneurs, and investors in the field of TCM in Jiangxi Province, facilitating the integration of resources among government, academia, industry, and investment sectors, and promoting the practical application of cutting-edge global TCM innovations.
