Over the past decade, the global healthcare industry has undergone significant restructuring, a transformation accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic since 2020. Having withstood the compounded challenges of global upheavals and the century-defining pandemic from 2020 to 2022, 2023 marked the first year for implementing the strategic arrangements outlined at the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, as well as a critical year for advancing the 14th Five-Year Plan. Only by accumulating strength, demonstrating the resilience to “stand firm amidst countless trials,” and embodying the spirit to “forge ahead despite mounting difficulties,” can innovators in the healthcare sector bolster their confidence through decisive action, thereby delivering a commendable response to the era’s call for high-quality development in healthcare.
The 7th Future Healthcare Top 100 Conference, themed “Beyond East and West,” was organized by VCBeat and VBInsight, in strategic partnership with Shanghai Zhangjiang Group. Integrating cutting-edge academic research insights, comprehensive industry perspectives, and keen awareness of capital trends, the conference was held at the Shanghai Zhangjiang Science Hall from May 5–7, 2023. It brought together industry peers to explore the innovative future of the broader health sector and embark on a new journey in healthcare innovation.
Having been held for six editions, the conference has become China’s largest and most information-rich ecosystem event integrating industry and capital within the healthcare innovation sector. Centered on “connecting global wisdom, sharing cutting-edge technologies, inspiring the technological future, and focusing on venture capital interaction,” it sets the trend for innovation and investment in China’s healthcare field. The 7th Future Healthcare 100 Conference in 2023 will feature three major summits, over 20 thematic forums across specialized fields, the release of the Future Healthcare 100 series rankings and awards, more than ten series reports, and seven concurrent networking events. Distinguished guests and attendees—including government agencies, academicians and scientists, clinical and research experts, Fortune 500/listed companies, top-tier investment institutions and securities firms, and innovative healthcare enterprises—will be invited to participate. This gathering of minds aims to provide insights to the industry and usher in a new future.
As global population aging continues to intensify, traditional therapeutic models struggle to address numerous challenges related to the repair and regeneration of tissue and organ defects. Regenerative medicine holds significant strategic importance by creating functional living cells, tissues, or organs to repair or replace those damaged by aging, disease, or injury. Consequently, it has become a major focus of long-term policy encouragement in various countries and attention from leading institutions.
In recent years, research in tissue regeneration and related fields has been gaining momentum, with many universities, hospitals, research institutions, and enterprises entering this domain. Nevertheless, it is certain that the field of regenerative medicine still holds immense untapped potential. Where lies the next “new door” for industrial innovation and development, and how can it be opened? These are the future challenges that the industry must collectively address.
Collagen has gradually emerged as a standout among various biomaterials due to its superior bioactive advantages. As a typical representative of novel biomaterials, recombinant collagen is widely applied in fields such as tissue engineering, regenerative medicine, medical aesthetics, and nutritional medicine, garnering significant enthusiasm from both capital markets and investors.
At the Future Healthcare Top 100 Conference, Ms. Lin Zi, CMO of Trautec Medical, will attend the Forum on Innovative Development in Regenerative Medicine and participate in a roundtable discussion. She will deliver a keynote speech on the innovative applications of recombinant collagen, engaging with industry experts and leaders to explore key issues such as relevant policies, technologies, products, and development prospects.
