Recently, the award ceremony and thematic forum for the Shanghai Enterprise Health Promotion Outstanding Case Collection and Selection Campaign, themed “Health Is Competitiveness!”, were grandly held at the China Financial Information Center. Guided by the Shanghai Municipal Health Commission and the Shanghai Federation of Trade Unions, hosted by the Office of the Shanghai Health Promotion Committee and the Shanghai Health Promotion Center, co-organized by the Shanghai Health Education Association, and specially supported by Ping An Healthcare and Technology Company Limited (stock abbreviation: “Ping An Good Doctor,” 1833.HK, hereinafter referred to as “Ping An Health”), the event brought together more than 200 enterprise representatives from all 16 districts of Shanghai, sparking widespread discussion and attention across society.
The Shanghai Enterprise Health Promotion Outstanding Case Collection and Recommendation Campaign was officially launched in September 2022. Within just two months, it received 258 shortlisted cases. Following rigorous expert review based on four dimensions—“culture building, model innovation, management practice, and humanistic care”—the campaign ultimately selected 12 “Demonstration Cases,” 14 “Outstanding Cases,” and special single-category awards for “Best Humanistic Care,” “Best Innovative Model,” “Best Culture Building,” and “Best Management Practice.” In total, 46 companies were honored. Ping An Health participated extensively as an industry observer and presented awards to the recipients of the “Demonstration Cases.”

To gain a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of the health evolution of the workforce, guided by the Shanghai Health Promotion Committee, the School of Public Health at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, the Shanghai Health Promotion Center, and Ping An Health jointly conducted industry-related surveys and data research, culminating in the significant release of the "Corporate Health Promotion Survey Report." At the event, Professor Wang Hui, Dean of the School of Public Health at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, authoritatively released this white paper. Through data analysis of 2,548 occupational samples, the report found that the self-health awareness and health status of the current workforce warrant attention, with an extremely high demand for health management; thus, the promotion of proactive health is an inevitable trend. Notably, nearly half of the workforce falls into the high-risk category. While the dietary health dimension scored relatively high in the Proactive Health Index for the workforce, there is an urgent need to improve proactive health levels in the dimensions of physical activity and exercise, as well as health literacy awareness. More than half of enterprises exhibit a high level on the Corporate Proactive Health Index; however, considerable attention must be paid to employees' psychological status and sleep issues. The degree of digitalization in proactive health within enterprises and public institutions needs further enhancement; for instance, adding telemedicine services for employees is a measure that companies should consider adopting and promoting.
To better leverage the exemplary influence of the award-winning enterprises from this event and enhance their leading and demonstrative role in fostering corporate health culture, optimizing workplace health environments, and refining management processes, Ping An Health proactively initiated a proposal. Under the enthusiastic guidance of the Shanghai Health Promotion Center, representatives of the outstanding award-winning enterprises gathered for the inaugural ceremony of the Modern Enterprise Health Competitiveness Development Alliance. The alliance aims to aggregate platform advantages, facilitate corporate health exchanges, and build a new relationship of mutual empowerment between occupational population health and corporate competitiveness. It also seeks to provide recommendations for government policymaking on workplace health. Furthermore, the platform will continuously offer intellectual services and exchange support in the field of employee health management, contributing to the construction of a Healthy Shanghai and a Healthy China. As a professional, comprehensive, high-quality, one-stop corporate health management service provider, Ping An Health has created the “Yi Qi Jian Kang” (Easy Enterprise Health) product series. It innovatively proposes assigning a dedicated health doctor to each employee, integrating diversified services such as “Check-up Plus” and “Health Management Plus” to meet various health management needs, including daily health, sub-health, and chronic disease management, thereby making corporate health management smarter and more convenient.

During the keynote speeches and roundtable discussions following the alliance’s inauguration ceremony, Dr. Yu Mingyang, Dean of the China Enterprise Development Research Institute, delivered a keynote address titled “New Insights into the Competitiveness of Chinese Enterprises.” Ms. Wu Jin, Asia-Pacific Medical Director of GE Renewable Energy and an expert in workplace corporate health management, presented on “A New Model for Corporate Health Management.” Their insightful presentations sparked lively discussions among attendees, underscoring that achieving business objectives and realizing corporate blueprints are inseparable from a healthy workforce. The term “health” (“jiankang” in Chinese) carries profound meaning: “jian” denotes strength and vigor, while “kang” signifies smoothness and well-being. Corporate health and employee health should mutually empower each other. During the event, Mr. Fang Weihao, Chairman and CEO of Ping An Good Doctor, stated that Ping An Good Doctor is committed to supporting more enterprises in jointly building people-centric, compassionate healthy workplaces, enhancing corporate competitiveness, and striving to ensure that every enterprise enjoys a happy workplace, every family has access to a dedicated doctor, and every user benefits from Ping An Good Doctor’s services.
To effectively sustain the impact of this initiative and leverage the positive role of media in promoting corporate health, the Shanghai Health Promotion Office and the Shanghai Health Promotion Center, under the guidance of the Shanghai Municipal Health Commission and the Shanghai Federation of Trade Unions, meticulously planned and launched the original video series “Health: Corporate Dialogue” at the outset of the event. This program focuses on hot topics in corporate health management, inviting representatives from various types of enterprises in Shanghai to share innovative measures and valuable experiences in employee health management, while jointly exploring new issues and trends in the field. Furthermore, by leveraging a multi-media matrix centered on Shanghai Health Promotion, customized content in diverse formats was produced and distributed to widely disseminate best practices, actively fostering a societal atmosphere that cares about and pays attention to the health of the workforce.
