Brain health issues such as depression, insomnia, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, and stroke have not only become societal “pain points” and “itch points,” but are also increasingly emerging as societal “hot topics.” According to quantitative assessments by the World Health Organization, brain disorders account for 28% of the global disease burden, surpassing that of cardiovascular diseases or cancer. In 2022, the prominence of brain science within China’s healthcare sector further elevated. Consequently, brain science and its related fields—including brain monitoring, neuromodulation technologies, and brain-inspired intelligent technologies—have become prominent frontiers in international scientific and technological advancement. Driven by societal demand, industrial development, and progress in scientific research, China is likewise entering an era of rapid growth in brain science and brain health.
