Siemens Healthineers

Integrated Healthcare Service Provider

Never before has there been a moment when groundbreaking medical innovations originating from universities and hospitals have garnered such widespread attention, recognition, and participation from all sectors of society.

As technological innovation has become the top priority of China’s 14th Five-Year Plan, a series of favorable policies promoting technological innovation have been successively introduced. China has reached a turning point in its transition from “business model innovation” to “technological innovation,” shifting from factor-driven and investment-driven growth to innovation-driven development, and moving from demographic dividends to innovation dividends. It is certain that the great era of technological innovation has arrived!

Thus, we are witnessing an increasing number of “pioneering forces” emerging across the technological innovation industry chain. These entities remain undaunted by the substantial risks inherent in the journey from technical validation to market commercialization. By steadfastly focusing on clinical needs and committing themselves to empowering innovation, they continuously enhance upstream and downstream synergies to collectively drive the high-quality development of the medical technology industry cluster.

In this context,Shanghai Zhangjiang Group and Siemens Healthineers jointly launched the inaugural“Medical Technology Innovation Pioneer Forum”Aiming to converge multidisciplinary forces across industry, clinical practice, scientific research, and academia, we are jointly building an “Innovation Community” to accelerate the clinical translation and commercial implementation of forward-looking medical technologies. By continuously expanding the synergistic potential among all stakeholders, we work hand in hand to realize more innovative visions and explore a farther-reaching future for medical technology.

This forum will be held onMay 24, 2023, at the Shanghai Kangqiao Marriott Hotelheld.

By fostering communication and sharing to break down boundaries, they seek to lay a solid foundation for the high-quality, sustainable development of the healthcare industry.

  • Jointly initiated by Zhangjiang Group and Siemens Healthineers [Dual Platform]

Zhangjiang Group is the primary force behind the construction of Zhangjiang Science City, a promoter of emerging industries, and a creator of the sci-tech innovation ecosystem. It undertakes comprehensive responsibilities for key functions, including development and construction, project attraction, industry cultivation, functional services, and fostering an environment for innovation and entrepreneurship. Zhangjiang Science City currently hosts more than 24,000 enterprises, over 150 national and municipal R&D institutions, 58 regional headquarters of multinational corporations, and nearly 20 universities and research institutes, with a workforce exceeding 400,000.

Siemens Healthineers has been rooted in and serving China since 1992. As a leader in innovation translation, Siemens Healthineers has achieved multiple “world’s firsts”: the world’s first 7T magnetic resonance imaging system for both clinical and research use, the world’s first photon-counting CT scanner NAEOTOM Alpha, and the world’s first interventional robotics system CorPath GRX.

Furthermore, Siemens Healthineers boasts a robust network of innovation resources both in China and overseas. The Siemens Healthineers Shanghai Innovation Center, located in Zhangjiang, is one of the company’s four global innovation centers and currently serves as Siemens Healthineers’ first open collaborative innovation platform worldwide. It has partnered with local startups, medical institutions, and research institutes in three key areas: advanced diagnostic and therapeutic technologies, healthcare digitalization and artificial intelligence, and intelligent medical devices. Since its opening in 2021, the Siemens Healthineers Shanghai Innovation Center has empowered nearly 50 companies and facilitated the incubation of more than 40 related intellectual property assets.

  • Spanning Six Major Circles, Nearly 70 Industry Leaders Gather Together

Spanning six key sectors—government, academia, industry, research, healthcare, and investment—it comprehensively showcases the direction of China’s medical technology innovation. With a robust lineup of experts, nearly 70 leading figures from top Chinese universities, premier hospitals, and the investment and industrial sectors share in-depth insights, jointly discussing the “barometer” of medical tech innovation.

  • “1+1+4” Meeting Framework: Building a Resource Platform for the Entire Industry Chain

Concurrently, the main forum and a closed-door seminar on medical-engineering integration will be held, along with four themed roadshows focusing on oncology diagnosis and treatment, in vitro diagnostics, medical imaging, and cardiovascular and cerebrovascular interventions. A startup exhibition area will also be set up to create an interactive platform for innovation in medical technology, enabling universities to connect resources across the entire industry chain encompassing production, academia, research, clinical practice, and investment.

  • Seminar on the “0 to 1 to N” Trajectory of Medical-Engineering Integration: Sharing Practical Experience and Trend Forecasts

The main forum focuses on frontier topics such as China’s clinical innovation needs, policies related to the translation of medical-engineering collaborations, and venture capital’s role in advancing medical innovation; the closed-door seminar on medical-engineering integration centers on development trends in the translation of medical innovations, delving into the innovation pathway of medical-engineering collaboration from 0 to 1 and then to N.

  • Provide practical support, such as hands-on commentary, to achieve deep resource integration.

Through four themed roadshows, startups can receive on-site feedback on project development strategies and technological trends, and directly connect with potential partners at the events.
