The "Top 100 Future Healthcare Companies" list, established in 2015, targets non-listed enterprises in the healthcare and medical sector. It aims to identify Chinese innovators who truly represent the future of healthcare and uncover the core forces driving China’s future healthcare industry. It has become one of the most widely recognized global awards for innovation in healthcare and medicine, attracting significant attention from both the business and investment communities. This year’s selection process involved corporate applications, review panel evaluations, cross-institutional reviews, and final approval by a special committee. The evaluation focused on growth and annual performance across four primary indicators—human resources, knowledge resources, key partner resources, and market performance—comprising a total of 17 secondary indicators. From the five major sectors of medical devices, biopharmaceuticals, digital health, healthcare services, and commercial and supply chain services, the top 100 innovative companies by valuation were selected.

According to the overall analysis overview data from the “2023 Growth Analysis Report on the Top 100 Future Healthcare Enterprises,” WeDoctor also ranked first among all 500 listed companies across the five major sectors.

Topping the “2023 Top 100 Future Healthcare Companies” and the “China Innovative Medical Services List” demonstrates WeDoctor’s innovative strength in the field of digital healthcare services. As China’s largest digital healthcare service platform, driven by both innovative technologies and service models, WeDoctor has not only achieved deep integration of online and offline medical resources but also established multiple unique service delivery channels through seamless connectivity with public health insurance systems. In meeting users’ diverse healthcare needs, WeDoctor is actively promoting the development of China’s digital healthcare industry.

Throughout this process, WeDoctor has continuously scaled new heights through innovative practices, carving out new avenues for growth in the digital healthcare industry.

In 2015, WeDoctor established China’s first internet hospital—the Wuzhen Internet Hospital—pioneering new service models such as online follow-up consultations, electronic medical record sharing, and e-prescriptions. Leveraging the internet hospital as a strategic hub, WeDoctor has progressively integrated regional hospitals, primary care institutions, physicians, and medical insurance payment systems across different regions to enhance healthcare supply and service capabilities. This approach provides users with integrated online-to-offline medical and health management services, effectively fostering collaboration and mutual benefit among all stakeholders in the medical value chain, while driving the digital transformation of local healthcare delivery systems.

For example, in 2019, WeDoctor launched China’s first city-level digital chronic disease management service model with direct medical insurance settlement in Tai’an, Shandong Province. This model achieved full-process chronic disease management through the integration of “Internet + Medical Insurance + Healthcare + Pharmaceuticals,” and began to be promoted across all 16 prefecture-level cities in Shandong. In 2020, WeDoctor established China’s first close-knit digital medical consortium led by a digital hospital in Tianjin, connecting all 266 primary healthcare institutions in the city and providing digital chronic disease management services to over 111,000 patients with diabetes.

WeDoctor’s innovative practices in digital medical consortia have not only established a Chinese-style “UnitedHealth” service model, but also ushered in a new era for the industry, with digitalization leading the development of an integrated healthcare delivery system.

Today, leveraging years of accumulated digital healthcare resources and service capabilities, WeDoctor has established three major business segments: digital healthcare, digital pharmaceuticals, and digital Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). It primarily provides digital healthcare services to various users, along with health maintenance services represented by digital chronic disease management and general health management. Compared with traditional medical services, WeDoctor’s value-centric digital healthcare and health maintenance services are more accessible and affordable. Furthermore, its continuous, user-need-driven, health-centered innovation practices have become a key driver enabling WeDoctor to maintain high growth and a leading position in the digital healthcare industry.
