Establish a closed-loop service system spanning assessment, diagnosis and treatment, and management.

At the Digital Therapeutics Industry Innovation and Practice Forum held on the afternoon of May 5,Professor Wang Jiejun, Founder of BOTONG HEALTHIt is noted that, thanks to the efforts of all sectors of society over the past decade, the overall five-year survival rate for malignant tumors in China has increased from 30.9% to 40.5%. With the improvement in overall cancer survival rates, cancer prevention and control have gradually entered an era of chronic disease management. While continuously advancing treatment standards, increasing attention is being paid to the quality of life of cancer patients. Among various concerns, “cancer pain,” as one of the most common symptoms experienced by cancer patients, significantly impacts their quality of life.

The “Blue Book on China’s Pain Prevention and Control and Health Promotion Strategy: Report on the Development of Pain Medicine in China (2020)” points out that “China has over 300 million patients with chronic pain, a number that is growing rapidly by 10 to 20 million each year, with total treatment costs amounting to approximately RMB 500 billion.” Behind these figures lies the immense burden borne by pain patients and their families, as well as society at large.

In the face of severe challenges, policy initiatives have clearly mandated the promotion and implementation of the ICD-11 disease classification system in China, which includes diagnoses such as “chronic pain” and “chronic cancer pain.” This development creates new opportunities for patient admission, medical quality control, and health insurance reimbursement. Meanwhile, BOTONG HEALTH is leveraging its industry expertise to build a leading pain management platform, aiming to enhance healthcare professionals’ awareness of the importance of pain management during oncology treatment, while providing them with actionable standards and practical technological tools.

B-side commercialization has been achieved,

Will launch large-scale market expansion in 2023

BTS (The 6D Pain Assessment System) is one of BOTONG HEALTH’s core products. It not only integrates multiple clinical tests but also incorporates proprietary algorithms to form a systematic, multidimensional “Total Pain” comprehensive assessment. Compared with the traditional Brief Pain Inventory (BPI), the BTS assessment requires less completion time, is more user-friendly, and is preferred by patients. In predicting breakthrough pain and neuropathic pain, the BTS achieves accuracy rates exceeding 90%. It is reported thatBOTONG HEALTH expects to launch the BTS Intelligent Pain Assessment Robot in 2023. Large-scale clinical study data on BTS are forthcoming, and an article on pain crises is also set to be published, making these developments highly anticipated.

The Pyramid Structure of BOTONG HEALTH’s Comprehensive Solutions

The base of the “Pyramid” is a digital healthcare product matrix centered on the BTS Multidimensional Pain Assessment and Support System. It encompasses hardware and software solutions for pain diagnosis and treatment, enabling the continuation of out-of-hospital home-based pain therapy and management, facilitating multidisciplinary precision diagnosis, assisting in etiological determination, and providing precise and comprehensive assessment of pain conditions.

The “Pyramid” structure refers to the “CPDP Project for Standardizing Cancer Pain Management Capacity within Medical Consortia.” Supported by the China Medical and Health Development Foundation, experts from the National Health Commission’s Pain Quality Control Center, the Supportive Care and Rehabilitation Committee (SCRC) of the Chinese Society of Clinical Oncology, and the Cancer Rehabilitation and Palliative Care Committee (CRPC) of the China Anti-Cancer Association, this project aims to establish a comprehensive system for cancer pain treatment and management, encompassing institutional frameworks, quality control, standards, training, and assessment. It seeks to empower healthcare institutions at all levels to implement new concepts, technologies, and models in offline practice.

At the apex of the “pyramid” is the Pain ICU (PAINICU) ward, where analgesic sign detection devices and pain assessment robots collect patients’ vital sign parameters. After data analysis by the Pain Management System (PMS) and the Pain Imaging and Control Ultrasound System (PICUS), standardized treatment plans are generated to safely and effectively address critical challenges such as pain crises and refractory cancer pain.

In addition to the exploration of technologies and application scenarios,BOTONG HEALTH has also established an innovative business and management model—the Dumbbell Model.: One end comprises the medical services segment; the other end focuses on training and clinical research for physicians. These two ends are connected by a data interaction management platform, where data from both sides is aggregated. The platform then leverages this data to enrich and upgrade its products, feeding the enhanced offerings back into both business segments.
