JensCare Announces Appointment of Renowned U.S. Interventional Cardiologist Dr. Mark Turco to Lead North American Structural Heart and Vascular Business

Recently, emerging medical technology company "JianShi Medical" announced that Mr. Mark Turco, a renowned U.S. expert in interventional cardiology, has joined the company and will be responsible for expanding JianShi’s vascular intervention and structural heart disease businesses in North America.

Mark Turco is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and an experienced interventional cardiologist. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and from George Washington University with a Doctor of Medicine degree. Since becoming a licensed physician, he has accumulated nearly 20 years of experience in interventional cardiology and previously served as Director of the Heart and Vascular Research Center at Washington Adventist Hospital in the United States.

Meanwhile, Mark Turco is also an outstanding corporate executive. Prior to joining MicroPort, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Cardiac Implants, a medical device startup offering novel interventional therapies for the tricuspid valve. Before that, he held key positions at Medtronic and Covidien, including Vice President of the Vascular and Neurovascular Business Unit and Chief Medical Officer.

Over a career spanning more than 30 years, Mark Turco has earned an outstanding reputation in both academia and corporate management, with particular expertise in the design of registered clinical trials, regulatory policies for medical devices, and physician training.

In February last year, Jianshi Medical acquired Jiecheng Medical, a “leader” in the domestic field of Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR), thereby entering the structural heart disease sector. In October of the same year, Jianshi initiated the registration clinical trial for “Jiecheng’s Transvascular Interventional Biological Aortic Valve” in China and plans to conduct multiple prospective, multicenter, registry-based clinical studies globally. According to the company, Mark Turco will subsequently lead the registration clinical trials for this product in the United States.
