Rainmed Medical Launches caIMR System, Pioneering Precision Diagnosis of Coronary Microcirculation

Most patients with coronary heart disease exhibit varying degrees of coronary microvascular dysfunction (CMVD). To improve patient prognosis, measurement of the index of microcirculatory resistance (IMR) is equally indispensable.

 

Runmaide caIMR has pioneered a breakthrough over the limitations of traditional wire-based IMR assessment, providing a more practical clinical tool for evaluating coronary microcirculation. Conventional wire-based IMR measurement requires vasodilators and repeated saline injections, resulting in prolonged procedure times and higher surgical risks; therefore, it has been limited to clinical research applications. In contrast, caIMR does not require a pressure wire or vasodilators, nor does it necessitate changes to the operator’s procedural habits. By leveraging angiographic images, TIMI flow grade, real-time aortic pressure, and optimized computational fluid dynamics algorithms, caIMR can calculate the IMR value within an average of 5 minutes. This approach is safer, more efficient, and simpler, creating new opportunities for the large-scale clinical adoption of coronary microcirculation assessment.
