According to informed sources, Isomorphic Labs, an AI-driven drug discovery company spun off from Alphabet's Google DeepMind, is in advanced negotiations to raise over $2 billion in a new round of funding.
The aforementioned informed sources revealed that Thrive Capital, the venture capital firm that led Isomorphic Labs' first round of financing last year, will head the new round of financing. Due to the information not yet being public, these individuals requested anonymity. One of the sources stated that Alphabet will also participate, but the financing has not yet been finalized.

Thrive and Isomorphic Labs both declined to comment. Google did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
This new round of financing will be another step in Alphabet's long-term plan to transform its cutting-edge bets into independent business ventures. Earlier this year, Alphabet's self-driving subsidiary Waymo raised $16 billion at a valuation of $126 billion.
