BirthThe Alliance will continue to consolidate core forces in the digital therapeutics industry, promote deep integration of industry, academia, and research, facilitate cross-sector exchange and cooperation, collaborate with ecosystem partners to build a robust system for the aggregation and operation of digital resources, enhance the driving effect across the industrial chain, and support industrial upgrading and innovation.
China has designated health and medical big data as a critical foundational strategic resource. The vast volume of healthcare big data will be extensively applied in areas such as clinical decision support, drug research and development, remote patient data analysis, and public health, yielding substantial economic and social value. This trend poses greater challenges and higher requirements for the digital biopharmaceutical industry, represented by digital therapeutics, particularly in ensuring data information security and unlocking data value.
As China’s leading CDMO and full-process service platform for digital therapeutics, SLANHEALTH has partnered with DBAppSecurity, a company dedicated to safeguarding data security, to jointly build a data security platform for digital biopharmaceuticals (digital therapeutics). Yan Xinxing, Senior Vice President of DBAppSecurity and General Manager of its Shanghai Headquarters, and Ma Wenyue, Senior Partner at SLANHEALTH, attended the signing ceremony.

The data security platform will focus on empowering the biopharmaceutical sector with digital AI security, explore standards for data security in digital biomedicine, prevent and mitigate medical data security risks, and fully leverage the value of data. This initiative aims to support business growth in the digital biopharmaceutical industry, exemplified by Zhangjiang, and jointly build a secure future for digital healthcare.

Furthermore, during the roundtable discussion, distinguished guests including Dr. Ding Gang, Director of the Oncology Center at Shanghai International Medical Center; Mr. Shang Jiaoyan, General Manager of Pacific Health Insurance Co., Ltd.; and Ms. Wang Jinghong, Founder of JESA Capital, participated in discussions on “Digital Strategies in Biopharmaceuticals,” exploring the boundless possibilities for the future development of digital therapeutics.

Ding Gang, Director of the Oncology Center at Shanghai International Medical Center, pointed out that cancer is increasingly being managed as a chronic disease. After completing in-hospital treatment, patients still require medical services in the home care setting; however, physicians typically lack sufficient time and energy to provide effective follow-up management. Digital therapeutics, as a digital tool, can facilitate better disease management and follow-up for patients in home settings, strengthen doctor-patient communication, and enhance the overall patient healthcare experience.
Shang Jiaoyan, General Manager of Pacific Health Insurance Co., Ltd., noted that while insurance products cover medical liabilities, the transformation on the supply side brought by digital therapeutics has posed many new challenges for insurers’ product innovation, while also creating new opportunities. On one hand, incorporating digital therapeutics into policy coverage expands the health services offered within current health insurance products, delivering a superior insurance experience to customers. On the other hand, the emergence of digital therapeutics enables early disease screening, diagnosis, precision treatment, and rehabilitation, thereby facilitating refined innovative practices in insurance for individuals with pre-existing conditions.
In China’s capital markets, digital therapeutics (DTx) is regarded as a high-potential sector, with strong investor confidence. Wang Jinghong, founder of JESA Capital, believes that DTx companies should build core competitiveness across three dimensions: technological barriers, data barriers, and service and brand barriers. Among these, the most critical capabilities are data acquisition and model development. Platform-oriented enterprises like SLANHEALTH must also take responsibility for proactively engaging with regulatory frameworks—for example, by contributing to the improvement and development of the DTx regulatory system, thereby providing reverse empowerment to the industry.
