Ophthalmic Microsurgery Robot Developer
Guangzhou Oculotronics Medical Instrument Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Oculotronics”), a benchmark enterprise in the field of ophthalmic surgical robots, has achieved two major breakthroughs: it has successfully completed a Series A financing round of nearly RMB 100 million, and concurrently concluded China’s first multicenter randomized controlled registrational clinical trial for an ophthalmic surgical robot. The financing was led by Yuanhang Capital, with continued follow-on investment from Minggui Capital, and participation from several renowned institutions. Yijia Capital served as the financial strategic partner. The funds will be utilized to accelerate product registration and commercialization layout, iterate core technologies, and enhance the product ecosystem for ophthalmic surgical robots.
Oculotronics, established in 2020, has long been dedicated to the field of ophthalmic surgical robotics, focusing on the intelligent upgrade of precision fundus surgery. Its independently developed “Oculotronics Zhuofeng Ophthalmic Surgical Robot” has achieved successive breakthroughs in key technologies. In 2025, Oculotronics performed the world’s first remote robot-assisted subretinal injection surgery. Leveraging low-latency, high-stability 5G technology, the company enabled micron-level precise surgical operations across a distance of 4,200 kilometers between Guangzhou and Xinjiang. This innovative model effectively addresses the pain point of uneven geographical distribution of high-quality ophthalmic medical resources, allowing patients in remote areas to receive diagnosis and treatment from top experts without the need for travel. The new “remote + intelligent” model expands the reach of premium ophthalmic care, facilitating the mobility, sharing, and replicability of high-quality medical resources. It effectively promotes the decentralization and inclusive development of ophthalmic medical resources, enabling more grassroots patients to benefit from advancements in medical technology innovation.
