On June 29, the VB-Link Future Healthcare Achievement Transformation and Cooperation Conference (hereinafter referred to as the “VB-Link Conference”) was successfully held at the InterContinental Hotel in Yujiapu, Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area. Featuring diverse formats and numerous highlights, the conference provided attendees with ample room for reflection and abundant opportunities for collaboration, thereby fostering cross-disciplinary exchange and cooperation in medical innovation and further promoting high-quality development in the field of medical innovation.

As one of the series of events for Tianjin Future Medical Innovation Week and its opening event, this conference was hosted by VB100, VCBeat, Zhongguancun Development Group, and the Administrative Committee of Tianjin Binhai–Zhongguancun Science Park, and co-organized by China Technology Exchange and Tianjin Zhongguancun Science Park Operation Service Co., Ltd. To better showcase the full landscape of frontier innovations in healthcare, the VB-Link Conference adopted a diversified format, including the National Grand Finals of the Future Medical Specialty Innovation Solutions Challenge, the Future Medical Scientific Research Achievement Transformation and Cooperation Conference, the Young Scientists’ Translation and Innovation Summit, the 3rd Forum on Management of Health and Healthcare Technological Innovation Achievement Transformation, and a closed-door meeting between government and enterprises. The aim was to build a branded ecosystem conference in China that is market-demand-oriented, facilitating frontier information sharing, achievement demonstration, matchmaking, and collaboration. As the main forum of the conference, the Future Medical Scientific Research Achievement Transformation and Cooperation Conference gathered numerous industry leaders. Experts from various fields conducted comprehensive and in-depth discussions across multiple dimensions, including ecosystems, hospitals, universities, and enterprises, bringing new perspectives and insights on industrial frontiers to the industry and receiving unanimous acclaim from attendees.


The VB-Link Conference was moderated by Bi Yuanfeng, Co-founder and COO of VCBeat. Distinguished guests, including Academician Rao Zihe of the Chinese Academy of Sciences; Guan Jian, President-elect of the Research Management Branch of the Chinese Medical Association; Ouyang Chenxi, Foreign Academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences and Founder of Wuhan Janssen Biologics; and Tang Yu, Executive Director of the Office of the Drug Clinical Trial Research Center at the Cancer Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, shared their insights on cutting-edge industry topics. Representatives from companies such as AstraZeneca, CanSino Biologics, and Haihe Biopharma, along with delegates from universities, research institutes, investment and financing institutions, and numerous innovative teams and service providers, attended the conference.

Notably, the Tianjin International Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Exhibition Center project was officially launched at the forum. It is reported that the Tianjin Municipal Government will collaborate with Boao, Hainan, to establish a permanent pharmaceutical and medical device exhibition in the Binhai New Area in the second half of this year. This exhibition hall will serve as the primary window for Tianjin to showcase the high-quality development of its biopharmaceutical industry to China and the world, while also providing a platform for displaying innovative pharmaceutical and medical device products and facilitating cooperation negotiations for their entry into the Tianjin market. In the future, the venue will host various conferences on an irregular basis, creating a platform for industry communication and exchange, and promoting in-depth collaboration among pharmaceutical and medical device enterprises.


Meanwhile, the Young Scientists’ Summit on Translational Innovation and the 3rd Forum on Management of Scientific and Technological Achievement Transformation in Healthcare were held concurrently on the afternoon of the 29th. Attendees included Xiao Guishan, Foreign Academician of the Russian Academy of Engineering and Chief Scientist at Kangde Biology; Li Xiaofeng, Director of the Science, Education and Research Division of the Beijing Hospitals Authority; Bai Jing, Deputy Dean of the Suzhou Medical Device Research Institute at Southeast University; as well as representatives from Beijing Institute of Technology, Topcare Medical, Zhuokai Biology, Sinovation Ventures, and SEE Fund.

 

At the Third Forum on the Management of Transformation of Scientific and Technological Achievements in Health and Healthcare, the Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area Biopharmaceutical Industry-Education Consortium, the National Engineering Research Center for Individualized Diagnosis and Treatment Technologies, and Beijing Danhuang Technology Co., Ltd. (VCBeat) signed a cooperation agreement to promote the establishment of the Chinese Medical Science and Technology Achievement Transformation Management Alliance and to advance the development of the Tianjin Biopharmaceutical Industry-Education Consortium. The National Engineering Research Center for Individualized Diagnosis and Treatment Technologies is led by Xiangya School of Medicine, Central South University, in collaboration with relevant universities, research institutes, and enterprises across the industrial chain, jointly establishing a collaborative innovation mechanism and co-building the center. In the future, the three parties will work together to facilitate the efficient operation of both the Chinese Medical Science and Technology Achievement Transformation Management Alliance and the Tianjin Biopharmaceutical Industry-Education Consortium.
