On May 11, Ribo Life Science (06938) announced that the company's core product, vortosiran (RBD4059), has submitted a Phase 2b clinical trial application to the European Medicines Agency for the prevention and treatment of venous thromboembolism.

The announcement pointed out that vortosiran is a small interfering RNA drug for the treatment of thrombotic diseases. It is designed to precisely and durably inhibit coagulation factor XI (FXI), blocking the FXI-mediated coagulation pathway, thereby suppressing FXI coagulation activity. While providing robust protection against thromboembolism, it significantly reduces the risk of bleeding. Compared with existing anticoagulant therapies, it can enhance clinical benefits for patients while reducing the risk of bleeding.
