Congenital Nystagmus (CN) is often described as an "incurable disease" in the field of ophthalmology. It is widely believed to result from underdevelopment of the fixation reflex or fixation function, although its exact etiology remains unclear. In China, there are approximately 1.3 million patients with congenital nystagmus, while the global total exceeds 7 million, with 100,000 new cases annually. Patients generally suffer from poor visual quality (visual acuity of 0.1–0.4), and 85% develop amblyopia secondary to nystagmus. The condition not only impairs daily living but also imposes significant psychological and sociological burdens on affected individuals.
