2023 Digital Health Innovation Conference and the 6th National Smart Healthcare Innovation Competition Finals to Be Held in Harbin

Hosted by the Harbin Municipal People’s Government, the Health Commission of Heilongjiang Province, and the Heilongjiang Provincial Communications Administration, in collaboration with the Joint Laboratory of Mobile Medical Education and China Mobile; and organized by the Harbin New Area, the Harbin Municipal Health Commission, the Heilongjiang Medical Association, the Harbin Association for Science and Technology, the Cloud Computing and Big Data Research Institute of the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT), the Harbin Medical Association, the First Hospital of Harbin, the Internet Healthcare Industry Alliance, and Beijing Yilian Xinchuang Technology Co., Ltd., the “2023 Digital Health Innovation Conference and the National Finals of the 6th Smart Healthcare Innovation Competition” will be held from September 20 to 22 in the Harbin New Area, Heilongjiang Province.


Themed “Healthy Harbin, Digital Heilongjiang, and Sci-Tech Innovation Empowering Healthy China,” the conference aims to advance the construction of “Digital China” and “Healthy China,” establish a high-end think tank and exchange platform for smart healthcare, create a national demonstration hub for innovation and entrepreneurship in the digital health industry, and foster a new model of deep integration between digital technologies and the real economy of healthcare. It seeks to promote the deep integration of digital technologies with the real economy in healthcare, accelerate the application of digital technologies in the medical and health industries, and facilitate high-quality development in the healthcare sector. During the event, leaders and experts from national competent authorities, as well as academicians, will be invited to deliver keynote speeches at the opening ceremony. Over 100 industry experts and technical specialists from leading enterprises will be invited to participate in nine specialized academic sessions focusing on “New Digital Health Infrastructure,” “Health and Medical Big Data,” “Information Security,” “Medical AI and Large Language Models,” “Practices in IT Application Innovation (Xinchuang) in Healthcare,” “Planning and Development of Healthcare Xinchuang,” “Smart Hospital Construction,” “Internet Healthcare,” and “Digital Transformation and High-Quality Hospital Development.” Additionally, the conference will organize a series of high-level dialogues and exchange visits involving academicians, experts, and corporate leaders to gain in-depth insights into Heilongjiang’s industrial layout during the 14th Five-Year Plan period in areas such as technological innovation, biomedicine, digital health, and the digital economy. These efforts will facilitate in-depth exchanges and matchmaking among multiple stakeholders, leading to the establishment of a batch of digital health and medical sci-tech innovation enterprises with demonstrative effects, thereby paving new models and pathways for the development of Heilongjiang’s digital health and medical industries.

In addition, the “‘Science and Technology Innovation China’ Technology Roadshow – Smart Healthcare Special Session & National Finals Pitching of the 6th Smart Healthcare Innovation Competition,” co-hosted by the New Technology Development Center Co., Ltd. of the China Association for Science and Technology and the Ministry of Education–China Mobile Joint Laboratory on Mobile Healthcare, and jointly organized by 40 provincial and municipal associations and societies, will be officially held during the conference. Following 30 regional final pitching sessions, more than 200 outstanding nationwide entries have been selected to advance to the national finals pitching. Over 1,000 team members from hospitals, enterprises, and research institutions, along with leaders and experts from the 30 regional divisions and the 40 co-organizing entities, more than 100 expert judges, representatives from investment and financing institutions, and leaders of innovative enterprises will gather in Harbin. The lists of the “Smart Healthcare Innovation Demonstration Base” and the “Review Committee” will also be announced during the conference.


Meanwhile, to support the construction of an innovation-driven service platform for smart healthcare encompassing “industry, academia, research, finance, services, and application,” facilitate major breakthroughs in digital health technology innovation, achieve global leadership in applied innovation, strengthen the dual development of digital health innovations and the integration of the digital health industry with the broader economy, explore new models for the deep integration of digital technologies with the real economy of healthcare, and expand new pathways for the commercialization of digital medical research achievements, the Organizing Committee will initiate the establishment of the “Smart Healthcare Innovation Industry-Finance Collaboration Platform.” This platform will connect government-guided funds, industrial parks, investment and financing institutions, technology innovation enterprises, service providers, research institutions, and medical science and technology innovations to jointly explore a six-in-one service model. It will conduct research on industry-finance integration in smart healthcare, foster industry-finance collaboration and planning, publish industry-finance reports, information on achievement commercialization, and policies for attracting both investment and talent. Furthermore, it will build databases for smart healthcare industry-finance data, enterprises, and projects. Through regular and diversified industry-finance matchmaking and resource sharing, the platform will empower the smart healthcare industry with financial capabilities, serving the commercialization of medical research achievements and promoting the integrated development of smart healthcare innovation with the real economy. By continuously playing an innovation-oriented role, stimulating innovative vitality, enhancing innovation awareness, and popularizing and promoting innovative outcomes, the platform aims to contribute innovative wisdom to the Healthy China initiative.
