As the organizer of the Medical Device Innovation Exhibition, Mr. Ma Ruibo, General Manager of Messe Düsseldorf (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (MDS), shared insights into the exhibition’s development journey. He stated, “Messe Düsseldorf Group is the organizer of MEDICA, the world’s largest medical trade fair, and also owns the MEDICAlliance series of exhibitions. With its strong background and abundant industry resources, we feel a responsibility to further explore the Chinese market. Moreover, as one of the most vibrant medical device markets in the world, China offers not only immense scale but also high-quality innovation and development trends, which have revealed significant potential and strengthened our confidence in hosting medical exhibitions in China. Therefore, six years ago, we introduced the Medical Fair China brand and held the first Medical Device Innovation Exhibition in Suzhou. As a subsidiary exhibition of MEDICA in China and a member of MEDICAlliance, the Medical Device Innovation Exhibition has always been committed to exploring medical innovations and promoting the development of the medical device industry.”

Commenting on this year’s exhibition, Mr. Ma Ruibo stated, “Compared with last year, the current MFC has achieved breakthroughs in both the number of exhibitors and the quality of attendees, bringing together 350 leading domestic and international enterprises from the medical device manufacturing, production, and R&D sectors. Meanwhile, high-quality exhibitors have attracted more professional visitors; we witnessed a steady stream of industry experts from home and abroad at the venue, engaging in face-to-face communication and creating an efficient platform for interaction.”

Regarding the future of the Medical Device Innovation Exhibition, Mr. Ma Ruibo stated, “We are full of confidence in the development of China’s healthcare industry and believe that the Medical Device Innovation Exhibition has a bright future ahead, driven by the growing market demand resulting from China’s rapidly aging population. Meanwhile, I believe that innovation is the key to sustaining growth and success in the medical device industry. Since its inception, MFC has remained committed to fostering industry innovation, keeping pace with sector developments, actively responding to market demands, and showcasing the latest technologies and products to attendees.”

This year, the exhibition hosted a series of compelling concurrent forums, such as the FTR4H Digital Health Forum and the China-Europe International Cooperation and Exchange Forum on Innovative Medical Devices. These events deepened exchanges among industry professionals and fully demonstrated that the Medical Device Innovation Exhibition is not only a platform that meets exhibitors’ trade needs but also a vital driver of industrial innovation.

Furthermore, as the sole subsidiary exhibition in China of MEDICA, the world’s largest medical trade fair, we will leverage the exclusive international resources of the parent event to attract more overseas enterprises to exhibit in China, organize delegations of international buyers, and invite international experts to share insights on-site. These efforts aim to facilitate precise matchmaking between domestic and overseas buyers and exhibitors, thereby promoting the sustained and healthy development of the Medical Device Innovation Exhibition toward greater internationalization.

The 2023 Medical Device Innovation Exhibition brought together numerous leading companies and experts in the medical device field, offering a promising outlook for the industry’s future. The successful hosting of the exhibition and the enthusiastic response from participants will further drive innovation and development in the medical device sector. The next Medical Device Innovation Exhibition (Medical Fair China) will be held again at the Suzhou International Expo Center from August 21 to 23, 2024.
