To provide a platform for showcasing technological innovation achievements and promoting the translation of scientific and technological outcomes, as well as to create opportunities for exchange and cooperation in China’s medical aesthetics technology and drive the development of plastic surgery in China, under the guidance of the Chinese Alliance for the Development of Plastic Surgery, this event serves as one of the key components of the inaugural Beijing International Medical Aesthetics Industry Development and Product Exhibition & Badachu Medical Aesthetics Industry Forum (hereinafter referred to as “AMIE Beijing Medical Aesthetics Exhibition”), which will be held from October 27 to 29 at the Shougang Convention and Exhibition Center in Shijingshan District, Beijing.The 2023 First China Innovation and Translation Competition in Plastic Surgery, co-hosted by Beijing Badachu Plastic Surgery Medical Technology Group and the China Technology Exchange, was officially launched on September 25 at the Plastic Surgery Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences.

This moment marked the official commencement of a series of professional competitions in plastic surgery, inviting all to witness the journey of innovative development in China’s plastic surgery field.
The China Plastic Surgery Development Alliance was initiated by the Plastic Surgery Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, with 59 institutions from 31 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) across China becoming its founding member units. These founding members are centered around national key clinical specialty construction units in plastic surgery within both military and civilian sectors, and primarily consist of member units of the Chinese Society of Plastic Surgery under the Chinese Medical Association, as well as institutions designated as key clinical specialties or key disciplines in plastic surgery at the provincial and municipal levels.
This competition is jointly initiated by strong partners,"Leading the Development of Plastic Surgery and Promoting Technological Innovation in Medical Aesthetics"Aimed at accelerating interdisciplinary research and collaborative innovation between plastic surgery in China and cutting-edge technologies, this initiative explores the diversified applications and commercialization of advanced technologies. It seeks to integrate resources across medical practice, industry, academia, research, and investment sectors within China’s plastic surgery field, fostering a multidisciplinary, cross-boundary ecosystem for exchange and collaboration. By establishing an efficient synergy channel spanning from frontier technologies to clinical translation and diverse applications, it promotes the transformation of scientific and technological achievements in Chinese plastic surgery and leverages advanced technology to support medical development, thereby enhancing the innovation capacity and competitiveness of China’s plastic surgery sector.
This competition is open nationwide to projects in the fields of medical devices, diagnostic reagents, or medical services related to cutting-edge technologies in plastic surgery and medical aesthetics. Eligible applicants include teams from healthcare institutions, universities and research institutes, scientific research organizations, as well as registered or prospective innovative enterprises. Joint submissions by research institutions and enterprises are encouraged.
The competition has invited experts from the fields of clinical practice, industry, venture capital, and translational incubation to provide guidance. Leaders from the Plastic Surgery Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences will personally serve as the Chair of the Organizing Committee and the Chair of the Expert Committee. The event serves not only as a competitive arena but also as a platform for exchange and collaboration. Participating projects will have the opportunity to receive honors, research resource support, investment and financing matchmaking, translational services, and multi-channel exposure.
The Organizing Committee will recommend top candidates to sub-funds established by the National Guide Fund for the Transformation of Scientific and Technological Achievements, the Beijing Science and Technology Innovation Fund, and other outstanding venture capital funds. Priority assistance will be provided in facilitating connections with government departments, such as the Beijing Municipal Science & Technology Commission and the Zhongguancun Administrative Committee, to secure fiscal subsidies.
For outstanding projects and participants, the Organizing Committee will facilitate exchanges with member units of the Chinese Plastic Surgery Development Alliance and Beijing Badachu Plastic Surgery Medical Technology Group to explore opportunities for scientific research collaboration. These opportunities include in-hospital scenario validation, expert guidance, joint development, and collaboration with research wards.
Key projects will be showcased free of charge on media platforms associated with the competition and promoted free of charge through partner media channels, thereby enhancing project visibility.
Through December 31, 2023, the Organizing Committee will continue to provide thoughtful supporting services, offering free end-to-end incubation services—including commercialization consulting, startup coaching, investment and financing support, and matchmaking between healthcare institutions and enterprises—to ensure robust service support for projects.
The Plastic Surgery Innovation and Translation Competition is a brand-new platform, fostering a novel ecosystem that integrates resources and facilitates cross-sector collaboration among medical professionals, industry players, academia, research institutions, and investors in China’s plastic surgery field. Guided by member units of the Chinese Alliance for the Development of Plastic Surgery—including the Plastic Surgery Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and Xijing Hospital of Air Force Medical University—the competition has garnered expressions of support from numerous other member units. AMIE Beijing Medical Aesthetics Exhibition, themed “Leading the Development of Plastic Surgery and Promoting Technological Innovation in Medical Aesthetics,” will feature four specialized zones: Plastic Surgery, Non-Surgical Medical Aesthetics, Functional Skincare, and Dental Care.
Concurrent supporting events, including the Badachu Medical Aesthetics Industry Forum and professional salons, will bring together 400 professionals from government regulatory authorities, research institutions, leading enterprises, financial institutions, and medical aesthetics digital platforms.
