“Pioneering in Jintan, Innovating for a Blue Future.” On September 26, the opening ceremony of the Changzhou Jintan Synthetic Biology Industrial Park (hereinafter referred to as the “Synthetic Biology Industrial Park”) and the inauguration ceremony of the BGI Blue Rainbow Jintan Biomedical Incubator (hereinafter referred to as the “Blue Rainbow Jintan Incubator”) were successfully concluded. At the event, the Changzhou BGI Songhe Venture Capital Fund (hereinafter referred to as the “Changzhou BGI-Songhe Fund”) and the first batch of incubation projects at the Blue Rainbow Jintan Incubator also completed their signing ceremonies.

Address by Xu Xun, Executive Director of BGI Group and Dean of Shenzhen BGI Research
At the opening of the event, Xu Xun, Executive Director of BGI Group and Dean of Shenzhen BGI Research Institute, took the stage to deliver a speech. Dean Xu noted that although synthetic biology is still in its early stages of scientific research, it will serve as a significant driving force in China’s medium- and long-term biotechnology roadmap under the 14th Five-Year Plan. He expressed confidence that the field will rapidly take root and flourish, progressing seamlessly “from scientific research to technology and then to industry.” He expressed hope that the Changzhou Jintan District Synthetic Biology Industrial Park would leverage BGI’s domestically produced, large-scale, high-throughput synthesis platform to build an ecosystem encompassing the entire upstream and downstream synthetic biology value chain. This initiative aims to further advance the biomedical and life health industries and establish a industrial cluster valued at tens of billions of yuan.
