On May 14, Zhengda Gene, a biomedical research platform under Zhengzhou University, officially reached an in-depth strategic cooperation with Xbiome, a leading intestinal microbiota technology enterprise in China. An awarding ceremony was held in the meeting room of Zhengda Gene. Hu Hongtao, Director of the Science and Technology Cooperation Department of Zhengzhou Municipal Science and Technology Bureau, as well as senior executives and representatives of the scientific research teams from both sides, attended the event to witness this important milestone in cross-regional biomedical cooperation.
During the event, Hu Hongtao, Director of the Science and Technology Cooperation Department of Zhengzhou Municipal Science and Technology Bureau, delivered a speech as a government guest. He highly praised the innovative value of this cross-disciplinary collaboration between Zhengda Gene and Xbiome, pointing out that this is not only a partnership between enterprises but also an exemplary model of deep integration of "industry-university-research-application." Hu Hongtao stated that the Zhengzhou Municipal Science and Technology Bureau will continue to optimize technology investment promotion and policy environment, strongly supporting such cross-regional and interdisciplinary industrial collaboration projects to inject new momentum into the high-quality development of Zhengzhou's biomedicine industry.
Subsequently, Lei Zhiliang, Chairman of Zhengda Gene, stated that Zhengda Gene is a new biopharmaceutical enterprise initiated by Zhengzhou University, gathering the strengths of top scientists such as Professor Shutao Zhang's team and Dr. Dan Wei's team. The company focuses on gene technology and cell therapy and has established a dual pipeline layout for cell therapy IgA nephritis drugs (Clinical IIT stage) and malignant solid tumors. Lei Zhiliang emphasized that this cooperation is a crucial step in Zhengda Gene's dual-driven strategy of R&D + health services, which will leverage Xbiome's microbiome technology to complete a full life cycle health management closed loop.
Xbiome General Manager Hao Yi stated in his speech that Xbiome, as a leading microbiome research and industrial transformation platform in China, has established an FMT (fecal microbiota transplantation) production system that meets FDA standards and owns the first FMT drug pipeline in Asia to receive FDA clinical approval. He pointed out that Zhengzhou is the medical hub of central China. This collaboration with Zhengda Gene aims to deeply integrate Xbiome's "AI+BT" technology platform with Zhengda Gene’s R&D laboratories, medical centers, and market resources to jointly create a central China highland for gut microbiome diagnosis and treatment.
Immediately following, Dr. Wei Dan from Zhengzhou University, Director Zhang Bowen, and General Manager Hao Yi from Xbiome respectively provided in-depth explanations on their technical layouts, research progress, and future plans.
Under the spotlight of the entire audience, both parties officially signed the strategic cooperation agreement and exchanged plaques as strategic partner units, simultaneously launching the "ZZU Genes & Xbiome AI+BT Joint Microbiology Lab".
After the signing ceremony, Shi Like, General Manager of Zhengda Gene Quanwei Life, delivered a summary speech. Ms. Shi stated that Quanwei Life Clinic is a high-end health management institution under Zhengda Gene, focusing on precision medicine and full-cycle life health services.
