Developer of Cell Therapy for Nervous System Diseases

Recently, Beijing Huixin Wiseheart Medval Biotechnology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Wiseheart Medval”) announced the completion of its pre-A financing round, raising tens of millions of RMB. The round was led by North Venture Capital, with follow-on investment from Jiuzhi Capital. The funds will be used to advance the development and clinical efficacy validation of Wiseheart Medval’s next-generation stem cell therapies for neurological disorders.

Wiseheart Medval, established in July 2021, is dedicated to applying its internationally leading, independently owned intellectual property rights in induced neural stem cell (iNSC) technology to drug research and the development of innovative therapies for nervous system diseases. Its first pipeline candidate is an injectable formulation of dopaminergic neural precursor cells derived from induced neural stem cells (iNSC-DAPs), designed for the treatment of Parkinson’s disease. This internationally leading Class I biologic novel drug is administered via intracranial injection to replace and supplement necrotic dopaminergic neurons, thereby restoring physiological dopamine secretion in the brain. The therapy aims to provide long-term efficacy and symptom relief with a single transplantation, while also halting disease progression. In July 2023, the world’s first neurosurgical procedure using autologous iNSC-DAP cell transplantation for the treatment of Parkinson’s disease was successfully performed at Xuanwu Hospital of Capital Medical University.

After more than two years of development, the company has established an exciting platform for the research and development and industrialization of cell-based therapies. Wiseheart Medval has always adhered to a clinical value-oriented philosophy in new drug development, dedicated to researching innovative therapies centered on patient benefit. This holds significant importance for advancing the pharmaceutical sector and improving patient health outcomes.

Mr. He Jingwei, Chairman of North Venture Capitalstated that innovative cell therapies hold significant application prospects in the treatment of neurological diseases. The first iNSC-DAP cell injection, independently developed by Wiseheart Medval, has initially been clinically validated. We eagerly anticipate its early market launch to benefit a broad population of Parkinson’s disease patients.

Mr. Han Hualong, Director of Jiuzhi CapitalIt was stated that novel stem cell therapies represent one of the most cutting-edge frontiers in current medical research. With the successive implementation of policy frameworks supporting the entire industrial chain in China, this field is poised to yield a batch of original achievements with international influence. In its strategic layout within this sector, Wiseheart Medval places significant emphasis on its distinct advantages in technological innovation and clinical translation.
