On March 5, Tuoling, independently developed by Tuodao Medical®The endoscopic surgical robot was officially launched at Jiangsu Province Hospital (the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing Medical University) and successfully completed the enrollment of the first patient in a urology clinical trial. At Tuodao®Under the assistance of an endoscopic surgical robot, Professor Wang Zengjun, Director of the Department of Urology at our hospital, completed a trial of robot-assisted laparoscopic partial nephrectomy., which signifies another important clinical advancement for domestically produced laparoscopic surgical robots, marking a significant milestone for Tuodao Medical in the field of laparoscopic surgical robotics.

This surgery was performed on a 73-year-old male patient with a mass in the left kidney. After thorough discussion, Professor Wang Zengjun’s team decided to use Tuodao Medical’s Tuoling system.®Robotic-Assisted Laparoscopic Partial Nephrectomy. Intraoperatively, under high-definition 3D visualization, the supervising surgeon identified multiple renal lesions and a complex clinical presentation: due to the patient’s obesity, saponification of the perirenal fat made dissection particularly challenging; the lesions were located deep within the renal parenchyma and were completely endophytic, posing significant difficulty for nephron-sparing surgery. Given the patient’s chronic renal insufficiency and strong preoperative desire to undergo kidney-preserving surgery to slow the progression of renal dysfunction, Professor Wang Zengjun’s team, after extensive discussions, utilized intraoperative ultrasound to localize the tumors. Leveraging the dexterity of the robotic instruments, they precisely resected the lesions, ultimately preserving the patient’s kidney.Intraoperative blood loss was less than 15 mL, significantly superior to that of conventional laparoscopic surgery, and the patient’s vital signs remained stable postoperatively.

Tuoling®The endoscopic surgical robot consists of a surgeon console, a patient-side surgical platform, and an image processing platform. Compared with traditional endoscopy, Tuoling®The 8-degree-of-freedom control arms of the laparoscopic surgical robot provide surgeons with an exceptionally dexterous operational experience. The proprietary 3D electronic endoscope delivers three-dimensional stereoscopic images with rich depth-of-field information, offering surgeons meticulous and immersive visual feedback. High-precision master-slave control algorithms empower surgeons to perform delicate maneuvers with ease, enabling minimally invasive and precise resection of lesions. The intelligent human-machine interaction design simplifies user operations through automated features such as one-click positioning, thereby enhancing surgical efficiency. A comprehensive suite of 15 types of instruments meets the routine clinical and customized needs across various medical departments.
