During the procedure, the surgical robot earned unanimous acclaim from the medical staff present for its precise dissection, stable performance, and smooth operation. Reportedly, this surgery marked the industry’s “gold standard” debut of the Tuodao laparoscopic surgical robot, representing a milestone that further underscores Tuodao Medical’s technological innovation capabilities and leading position in the field of surgical robotics.

Precision Therapy with Effective Preservation of Physiological Function: Intraoperative Blood Loss Limited to 100 mL


According to reports, the patient undergoing this surgery was a 68-year-old male with long-standing difficulty in urination, clinically diagnosed with prostate cancer. Following preoperative discussions by Professor Wang Gongxian’s team, it was determined that the procedure posed significant technical challenges and involved the preservation of sexual function post-prostatectomy, thereby demanding extremely high precision and stability in surgical manipulation. The team ultimately reached a consensus to utilize the Tuodao system.®Robotic-assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy.

During the procedure, Professor Wang Gongxian achieved seamless human-robot integration with the laparoscopic surgical robot. Leveraging Tuodao Medical’s self-developed 3D high-definition endoscope, the lesion was precisely identified. With the assistance of wristed instruments, the tissues surrounding the prostate were dissected and ligated, and the prostatic lesion was resected. The prostatic fascia was meticulously dissected while preserving the neurovascular bundles on both sides of the prostate. The urethra was rapidly anastomosed to reconstruct the bladder neck, ultimately leading to the successful completion of the surgery.


The robot’s high-definition 3D imaging, precise manipulation, and master-hand vibration filtering provide surgeons with enhanced tissue discrimination and refined operational control. Intraoperative blood loss was only 100 mL, demonstrating significantly superior surgical outcomes compared to conventional laparoscopic surgery.
