For over a decade, I have focused on research into minimally invasive treatments for urinary calculi, leading multiple major projects funded by provincial and municipal science and technology departments, with total research funding exceeding RMB 4 million. I have published more than 50 papers as first or corresponding author, including over 20 indexed in SCI journals. My independently developed technologies have been presented four times at the American Urological Association (AUA) Annual Meeting. I hold six national patents, including a national invention patent for the “Medical Irrigation and Suction Platform.” I independently researched and developed two medical devices: the “Micro-access Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy Suction Stone Clearance System” and the “Intelligent Pressure-Controlled Endourological Lithotripsy Irrigation and Suction Stone Clearance System.” I pioneered three techniques internationally: “Micro-access Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy with Suction Stone Extraction,” “Intelligent Pressure-Controlled Transnatural Orifice Suction Stone Extraction,” and “Intelligent Pressure-Controlled Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy with Suction Stone Extraction.” The research achievement titled “Clinical Study on the Treatment of Staghorn Renal Calculi Using the Micro-access Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy Suction Stone Clearance System” received the Second Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress from the Jiangxi Provincial People’s Government in 2014. The projects I led to completion, namely the “Medical Irrigation and Suction Platform” and the “Research and Development of Intelligent Intrarenal Pressure-Controlled Flexible Ureteroscopic Suction Stone Extraction Technology and Related Instruments,” were recognized as “Scientific and Technological Achievements” by the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Science and Technology (with me as the primary contributor).
The innovatively developed “Intelligent Pressure-Controlled Lithotripsy Irrigation and Aspiration System for Endourological Stone Clearance” is the first product in Jiangxi Province and the only one in Ganzhou City to be granted entry into the “Special Approval Procedure for Innovative Medical Devices” by the National Medical Products Administration. For consecutive years, it has been invited to deliver special reports and live surgical demonstrations at the Stone Disease Group sessions of the Chinese Urological Association (CUA) Annual Conference. The pioneering technique, “Flexible Ureteroscopic Lithotripsy with Intelligent Intrarenal Pressure Monitoring and Aspiration,” was featured in a surgical video published in 2015 in the Journal of Endourology, which earned the distinction of being the most-viewed article globally in that journal for 2015. In 2023, the Chinese Alliance for Urinary Stones officially established the Training Center for Intelligent Pressure-Controlled Stone Removal Technology under its auspices. To date, the center has conducted 18 training programs, directly training nearly 300 urology specialists from across China, with over 15,000 cumulative online viewers tuning in to watch live surgical demonstrations.
